I love how Ekhidna has Clara set up Percival. She allows Percival to believe that she is less competent than she actually is. He believes that all nobles can be easily manipulated.

2025-02-24 06:45:01 +0000 UTCWyatt is a member of the Principality military navy, and re-invented the depth charge as mines in drop pods are used to attack enemy secured beneath a space ship on the planet surface. Direct weapons fire from space weapons being inefficient, and void fighters unable to withstand atmosphere fighting, required they improvise a weapon that would be effective in assaulting the Drazzan ground forces, or the rebels as needed. Necessity being the mother of invention it is how Wyatt also innovates his rational in coping with this conflict. He assessed the threat against what he valued and acted decisively to neutralize it. Taking the steps against each threat he believed sufficient, he was able to justify the outcome within himself. He is both simple and complex when viewed because he is decisive in action, but understanding his motivation is alien to many of those around him because they do not stem from common practices others rely upon in deciding their actions. Suffice to say staying in Wyatt's good graces ensures he is not likely to act against you. The enemy of my enemy can be an asset, until your frenemy decides they no longer share in your interest and they decide turning on you serves their interest more. The grand general reveals how this held true for them, not being prepared to handle the alliance being broken after the Drazzan failed to capture Jintrak and Woodshaft. The lesson learned would be to ensure you can still stand against an allied enemy when the alliance is no longer acceptable. Clara now juggles the knives trying to make the rebels an ally against the Drazzan, and force negotiations with her and Istanel on returning the planet under Principality rulership and holdings. There are hints of principality patriots still on the planet and with proper guidance she shoud be able to contrive a dialog that will restore order and reclaim this world.

I was hoping to see like this " Now Wyatt, you have command of your ship. " From Clara to him . Now that Ekhidna that was a masterful move . Congratulations on that you beat all the expectations.

2025-01-28 18:43:37 +0000 UTCThe last 30 seconds of this made me bust out laughing and almost forget how fantastic the entire chapter is. I will listen to this again so that I can capture all the great aspects to talk about. I am not an advocate of psych evaluations because I feel they are used to often inappropriately not taking into account people adapt to their environment and can chose to be different. The test can hep to know why someone feels or did something, but in the end it can only guess about any future choices that could be different based upon conscious choices made after the test. Wyatt's test was only able to confirm what they already knew about him from is actions and self testament. Those testing him bias the test data by stating they would keep him at arms length for fear of his abnormal normalcy dealing with the combat results. I personally would have advised that Wyatt is very decisive in threat analysis and convicted to accountability. Being my view, I would have cautioned that interactions with Wyatt should be evaluated with clear understanding of that aspect and his desire to be of value, and the desire he has to defend what he values. The socio-political status of the planet inhabitants was on point and harmonious with the implied data Cynthia uncovered on the cattle ship. Ekhidna gives us a great summation of the rebel and pirate forces arrival, conquest, and current status. They are fighting a difficult battle against the Drazan after the alliance was broken, but do not wish to return to previous principality rule that was harsh, unjust, and corrupt. Can the princess convince the rebels and Istanel's family to accept allowing this planet to become a house unto itself under them? Are the rebels organized enough to function as a sovereign house in the principality? The princess is attempting to avoid fighting the entire planet and repair principality holdings using both threat and guile. Her threat to attack is transformed as an opportunity for rebel forces to come to negotiations over facing Principality forces retaking the planet by force. Allowing the rebels to negotiate could be a move to ally them with the prince against the duke who strives to enforce his view of the principality on others views. What's left to fight with when you have already thrown everything but the kitchen sink?! Well you ask Wyatt and he will figure out how to use the pipes in the plumbing to change the outcome by surprising the enemy with things they never considered. His idea about the anti-matter bombs was indeed extreme and excessive but within his acceptable options for destroying the enemy, till his peers pointed it out as excessive to the desired results. Forcing Wyatt to rethink tactics he assesses the resources and abilities available (figures out the plumbing) to apply tactics they have been using in a new way. The compost pilot throws garbage out with efficient repurposing of the end result to achieve his desired goal. When you are left with scraps and left overs you learn to improvise and innovate. He does this well and when given the resources it becomes even more impressive what he can accomplish. Because Wyatt was a commoner and survivor that endured hardship, being outcast, being denied things others claimed through entitlement, he learned to never assume his own entitlement unless he could clearly see it was a result of his direct effort to acquire it. It seems his coping method for things he is mentally unprepared to accept is strong enough to cause a consciousness conflict within him, much to the delight of some that find it endearing or humorous, but unknown by most. This sets the stage for quite comical situation. Jincho shared what he thought Wyatt already knew, only for Wyatt to discover the incredible implications unexpectedly. Wyatt's sudden and unexpected enlightenment created the dramatic situation for someone unaware of this aspect about Wyatt. The unintentional and unexpected reaction of Wyatt to this news leaves this alien friend stunned and shocked, believing he has in some way killed the now famous wormbrain mainiac by accident or mistake he does not understand. Likely the result will be a story about Wyatt finally becoming overwhelmed by all the combat to conceal this behavioral weakness in him. Thanks again to the Author Ekhidna and this channel scifistories1977. I am so inspired that I signed up for the membership to support and follow this here.

From the way the general put it, and the situation being dire enough on the ground that it'd be certain death for even Royal Marines, his shuttles probably got shot down by the Drazan, killed or captured by them and any surviving nobles killed by the rebels. Although maybe they stuck him in a prison and he'll get traded back to Clara.

He will have a private fighter with data from Maximillian's ship and battle data from how Wyatt flies and fights. WIll relisten again and enjoy this a few times more before the next one comes out.
