February Schedule
Added 2022-02-04 09:16:26 +0000 UTCI just thought I'd post an update about what I'm currently working on (and have been working on for over a week).
The previous version of OVoice will be the last public version for OStim. I'm rewriting the engine for improved performance, higher quality, and better functionality. For example, player characters will be able to use OVoice. It's going well so far but it is a very big job because the existing 12 voice packs must be converted and some of the older ones require a good deal of new material, which is very time-consuming. FemaleYoungEager, FemaleEvenToned, and Serana are all twice as big as they were. Karliah is about 20% bigger. She is a recent voice pack so I had less work to do. These conversions are not only required to work with the new system, they enhance the experience greatly. There is more variety, less repetition, no dead space because animations didn't change, and NPCs no longer sound too talky.
The new engine will be able to do males, so I plan to do the first male voice pack this month. It will also be capable of handling threesomes and gay/lesbian, but OSA/OStim lacks detail in categorizing these non-male-female animations, so I can't do it optimally until I adapt the system to a new framework. That's another reason I'm rewriting the engine. Its code is already designed to work with a different framework with minimal modification, although the initial release will still run on OStim unless the new framework project is miraculously released this month.
I will be moving away from mods that use the "O" in their name in keeping with my intention to completely separate from mods requiring OSA in their requirements. Therefore, "OVoice" will be renamed, "Naughty Voices."
Once I've reached the halfway point converting voice packs, I'll take a few days to do a maintenance release of OPrivacy. It will primarily be for bug fixes and hopefully code optimization. OPrivacy will also get a new name, but I haven't decided on one yet.
