So glad to see Rome back! I'm not sure if my opinion matters, but I absolutely love this series as well as the 19th century series. I would love to see these as alternating videos, but I will love the content no matter what! Thanks for the hard work!

Curundil

Thank you for the video!! Ive been long awaiting the return to Rome!! After you're done with Rome please pick back up on Alexander's conquest, pleeeese!!! :D love your videos

Russell Watters

I think you made a mistake on the Aquaeduct bit. 48km³ of water PER DAY?! That would be 550000m³ per second. That would be about twice the discharge of the amazon river. If rome had a population of about a million back then, that would be 50k m³ of water per day per person, or about 50 million liters. I think you got some numbers wrong.

Y.R. Music

Just being in the same city as Agrippa is an improvement.

marktheprogrammer

I’ve waited so long for this that I couldn’t wait for it to get to YouTube. $3 a video to get early access to and support content like this is a steal. Keep up the great work!

Gabe Flota

Awesome job as always. Keep up the good work and take as much time as you need for each video. :)

Ivan Trapić

Feels good to be back in Rome! You should consider releasing companion "study guides" with sources and additional comments, i think we all would enjoy reading more from primary sources and additional nuances that don't quite make it into the script! Perhaps as a patreon tier? I feel bad asking for more work from you, we know you're working hard!

Cobby Caputo

Regarding the letter from Antony to Octavian, is the vulgar excerpt you presented the entire letter? Or is it a peice of a larger letter? I am astounded at the vulgarity (as you mentioned, was notworthy because of this). Also. Great video! I've been dying for more of your content. Glad to see you're still kicking!

Jesh Gresh

Was the standard of living really so low, after Agrippa's aqueduct?

Gintaras Valentukonis

YES! Rome is back! Historia Civilis please focus on this timeline <3

Marat Vardanyan

Rome is back 😌. You made a little mistake at 5:10, you highlighted river Drava, Sava is the lower one running parallel to Drava

Ivan

For some reason on IOS it says the video is unavailable?

Vega

Nice

Kasey Farnum

“We’ll see why in the next video.” It was because of AGRIPPA! You heard it here first, folks 🤣

Athanasius Kirchner

Oštro oko hrvatsko

Jakov Vodanović

Hey there, great to have you back! You made a tiny geographic mistake on 05:06, where you've higlighted river Drava instead of Sava, which is actually the one right down south from Drava. I believe that your sources specified that Octavian's campaign made it only to the river Sava. That means that his campaign was even less successful, yikes.

Nikola Lončar

To get 48km^3, he would've had to had Neptune really like him... or really hate him

Kodiak Lewin

Oops! Thoughtless on my part! I'll fix that section for the YouTube release.

Historia Civilis

Oh right, even the Antarctic Circumpolar needs more than 6 minutes to achieve that volume. Really need to push this up.

Patrick Siu

Daaaamn that letter... Anthony sounds like a real gentleman and scholar. Outstanding video, as always!

Rard

Loved the video! But I noticed a mistake about the Aqua Julia. You said it had a daily output of 48km^3, while it actually had a daily output of 48,000m^3, which is not equal to 48km^3. 48,000m^3 is actually only 0.000048km^3.

Joey Love

I couldnt stop laughing when you read the letter

CocoYamoi

the early empire is actually the golden era of rome though

Andrea Voigtländer

bless 🙏🏼

donkey konkey

I love the perspective you give on this period of Roman history. I always felt like people tend to glorify the days of the Late Republic and Early Empire, but you do an excellent job of portraying how nasty and bloody that period was, while still telling a riveting story. I'm glad I can help support your extremely high value and criminally underrated work. I'm already looking forward to re watching this dozens of times over like all your other work. Keep it up!! 😘

Vasilios the Wise

Perfect timing, right after I graduate BCT!

Boznboyz

Ahh, I finally got my fix

Kane Foreman

Wonderful video! It's so great to see you upload again, though it is a bit infuriating to see what Roman politics have come to. I honestly don't know what's going to happen (I mean of course Octavian will win but apart from that I don't know any of the details), and I'm trying to imagine all these possibilities in my head, it's honestly really cool, and I wonder how long can I stay away from spoilers

Itamar Klartag

YES its been so long!

s10w10rr1s

It be interesting if after the war you will cover Octavian/Augustus rule as Princeps.

Al Money

Oh my gosh, the letter from Antony to Octavian … 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Douglas McLean

Oh, yeah Ancient Rome time is the best time.

Jean Lourenço

Literally every single time I learn more about Agrippaa, it never fails to blow my mind. This man hard-carried Octavian.

Phootreese

I've only ever supported two people via Patreon and Historia is one of them.

Faris Natour

It says it can't be shown for me due to privacy reasons

Genesis1864

Thank you for the work you put in HC!

Faris Natour

The best way to unwind after work is to watch the new Historia Civilis video 3 times in a row 🙏

Zitronay

Historia Civilis - would you say you've got more anti-Caesar as time has gone on? I remember watching this series 5+ years ago and hearing the words "my boy Caesar", but for a lot of the more recent videos it's a very opposite sentiment. It would be interesting to hear what caused this if you agree?

Astrofix

Video not exist for anybody else?

Roy Olsen

I used to be an emperor like you then I took a sling stone to the knee

Aaron Evans

I now see why Agrippa has space ship sounds and I love it.

Tyler Jones

i dont think so

Andrea Voigtländer

Agrippa the giga chad

Lucas

I feel like Octavian earned that sling stone to the knee for all the other messed up stuff he got into. Great video HC. All the best! 😁

David Goebel

Hyped

Nick Brenneman

Had to join for this peak content

TheGreatRambler

Bloody marvelous, worth every second of waiting

George Fairhurst

Got the notification at the beginning of class and was waiting the whole time to get out and watch this

Will McVey-Schindel

Thanks!

Valantis Athanasiou

I just rewatched the whole series and I am so happy that it continues

Justus Becker

I remember it being in Polybius' Cponstitutional arguments

Tom

HC you are the GOAT

Tom

It popped up for the first time when he was first introduced. If I remember correctly, HC said he thought of it at like 3 am and just went with it.

Adam Washington

Agrippa the Goat

Miko

Same - I didn't even have Patreon until I started watching them on repeat and realised I need to support this guy

Astrofix

This is released here about 2-3 weeks before YouTube. The last one was released here on 16th May, and then on YouTube on 2nd April - if you want to check out more exact timings you can see the post to Patreon & then the publication to YouTube on the feed.

Astrofix

That letter to Octavian is hilarious. How little we've changed over the millennia since.

Adam Washington

It comes from The Jetsons, which is a cartoon set in a futuristic. Its the sound of of the flying cars that they have in the show, which in this case is being used playfully to indicate how far ahead Agrippa was of his time.

Gregory sim

YESSSS!!

Owen M

Agrippa can do no wrong.

JULIO AVILA

Let’s gooooo

Leaf

How do we know Cleopatra had no ambitions for ruling the West? Surely Antony did, but she didn't share those?

kayle

I have watched all your videos on repeat, I figured it's time to become a Patreon. You deserve it all for putting so much insanely interesting content out for free.

Daniel Perez

This is my first patreon video. Does this go straight to Youtube when it's ready? Straight from the vimeo?

Charles Wood

Literally more excited for this than the birth of my child

Charles Wood

I have a question: In past episodes it was said that Senatus Consultun Ultimum could not be vetoed? But I haven't found any source supporting this until now. Any help?

Valantis Athanasiou

Back at it again!

Xander Whyte

I don't get the joke about Agripa and the flying sound whenever he moves. Is it a reference to something or am I just missing a play on words?

Liam Pender

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

AzzaRudders

Should have realized the guy in the preview was Agrippa by that sonic (?) signature

Patrick Siu

Ah yes, the Divas of the Republic are back in action!

lightxheaven

Octavian, First Man, hum, where have I heard that before, princeps?
