Marianna! You’ll be pleased (perhaps) to know I’m back on the SM7B! The C414 was a great multipurpose mic, as a drummer it works great as an ambient mic due to its flat response and Omni-directional polar patterns but you can also set it to cardioid for vocals. Now I’m in a larger space with lots of windows, the SM7B has been perfect for picking up a close vocal sound with lots of warmth!
