I was 12 the year Donkey Kong Country came out. That year, it was all I wanted for Hanukkah. My parents had me totally convinced I was going to get it on the last night, but when I opened the package it was filled with my mom's homemade cookies (which were great, but always in the house and clearly something I just felt entitled to). I felt SO betrayed, and was too busy scream crying to see that my parents had punked me by hiding Donkey Kong Country at the bottom of the cookies.
