Which of my videos do you wanna see more of?

Which type of video content would you most like the budget and time to go towards?

Your short videos are cool, and I think they're really fun, but imo I enjoy the longer videos way more, seeing the process of building and making the stuff is really interesting, and sometimes way more interesting than the end result. I think maybe shorten them a tad, because an hour 20 might be a bit long for some, maybe just down to like 50 or 40, but I get that you've got a lot to fit in.

I've considered this, and if videos are deleted in the future I will probably be able to upload most here. However when it comes to my old deepfake videos that have been deleted/removed by YouTube or myself, I'm not sure I particularly feel comfortable uploading the full videos out of respect for Mark and Nigel. I think the train scene from the end of the glitterbomb video was too hilarious to pass up though lol

Mr Green

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the videos and find them engaging :)

Mr Green

Can you post your deleted videos on Patreon?

Steve The Squid

I find the short-form videos fun and entertaining, and I'd love for you to keep producing them for as long as you enjoy making them. I ALSO didn't skip even a single second of the Sodium Duck video, and though the length *was* a bit daunting, knowing your content thus far I knew it would be worth it. I couldn't have been more right. So I guess for me the takeaway is that you did an excellent job of keeping the video engaging all the way through, though the initial hurdle of setting aside 90 minutes could be an issue. But as long as you keep having fun and undertaking cool or interesting projects, I'll keep watching.

Zutia

I think that makes a lot of sense, thanks!

Mr Green

haha thanks! Yeah I'll aim for shorter than an hour for future videos. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Mr Green

Yeah this is a good point. I'm looking for doing a mix of the content which should help get videos out more often too, but I'd rather focus more on the long form I think

Mr Green

I gotta say your special kind of editing really fits well with a longer type of video especially in the around 30 min range, scince, even though I like the deepfakes, the amount of jokes gets quite dense in 5 minutes. It still works, but is a lot better top watch over 30 minutes. And a few shots in the deepfakes just take a few seconds of the video but probably something like a week in production, so the effort is probably comparable. You do what you like, but the longer format just fits your style better.

I believe the deepfakes were a great start. We all found your channel via your stupid NileGreen videos, but you can definitly sustain your channel with long videos like this. It's just like someone wrote in the comments you somehow weld (pun intended) the style of I Did a Thing and NileRed together into something really new and special. I personally had a lot of fun watching the video, not skipping one second. Even though it didn't feel like you needed to cut out more the duration was somewhat intimidating tbh, but I'd guess that, If you don't need like half a year for one project, you are able to make videos just short enough for our ADHD monke brains. Either way, I am really happy that you produced such a banger and hope to see many more!

The deepfake videos are a lot of fun, but personally, I think they're more of a novelty, and there's a limit to how much you can grow your channel with them. Long-form science content is a pretty well-established niche and there's definitely room for more creators like yourself. Other than that, just be weary of scope creep. The sodium synthesis was already such a huge video so I don't think you should worry about trying to top it anytime soon. Videos in the 15 - 30-minute range are probably a lot more realistic if you want to upload more than twice per year.

Please leave the goofines in or even add more of it, managed to make me laugh many times!

Yeah I agree. It was much longer than I anticipated. Because this was my first long video project, I think I have a better idea of what the length will be while recording now, so it should be easier for me to plan for it to be shorter

Mr Green

I've really enjoyed the long video, it just kept me watching without skipping much. Though I think that for people that don't have lots of spare time it would be hard to watch it whole, so making vids bit shorter would allow more people to watch em in one go. Hope to see more of what you make!

prk_kerix

Yeah I guess it depends on the project. I can strive for long videos, but an hour and a half wasn't quite what I was going for lol. Been a viewer of Explosions&Fire for a while now and I like his style of content. I am interested in experimenting a bit with how I deliver my videos so it's something i'll be thinking about. Thanks!

Mr Green

I'd love to see more projects, such as the sodium one, although it would be nice if they were split up into several videos and posted as update videos, sort of like a smaller channel called Explosions&Fire. Obviously keep doing what makes you happy, and, if you are chasing views, what gains views (such as your parody videos).
