8 years ago today, my short pitch for 'The Werewolves of Haven' was accepted by Choice of Games and I was given the green light to develop a full outline in my bid for a contract! Midway through development my editor suggested changing the name to 'Werewolves: Haven Rising,' and the rest is history!

The 'Haven Rising' book in the Claw Shadow & Sage story line was my very first professional publication. Before that, I wrote and self-published three traditional paperback gamebooks in the Westward Dystopia series which helped me catch the eye of CoG. Here is the original elevator pitch that began it all:

'Werewolves of Haven'

Werewolves. Once a quaint footnote from folklore and pop culture, they became so much more in the wake of the Jackson slaughter and subsequent extermination. You are one of the few remaining 'Weres' in North America, and one of only fifteen pups born and raised in captivity. Life has been simple for you in the coastal refuge of Haven, but on one day’s expedition to the forbidden zone where the adults go to earn your food from the humans, you make a startling discovery that will change your life forever. As the fragile peace between species erodes, you will uncover the secret history behind your kind’s incarceration, and you must choose in which direction to lead your young packmates. What training will you undergo before the outbreak of inevitable revolution? Will you choose the path of The Claw, The Sage, or The Shadow? Will your rise to freedom and power be marked by peace accords or the bloody trail of your enemies’ bodies? You must choose your allies wisely, keeping your friends close and your enemies even closer as you fight for your freedom and the hearts and minds of both human and werewolf alike.
