As GM I’ve done this on occasion and it’s interesting to watch experienced gamers try to understand how this fits into the rules…”is it a free action?”, “do I still get all my attacks if I respond?” Beginners are straight in with the taunts, insults and tactics. I’ve even thrown out clues during combat (because some damn fool wrote rules about using three clues).
