Okay, have now read this -- thank you! I was wondering what was wrong with me when I was trying to run this. (I mean, yes, some of it was me -- turns out I couldn't run this particular campaign remotely, and I'm dubious I can run NBA remotely remotely well.) And you've mentioned some of my issues when I first read it. Which is not to say I couldn't use it! I disassembled Zalozhniy Sanction, mixed it with disassembled Harker Intrusion, moved part of it to London, inserted a Scholomance sequence, ran Boxmen, and started Out of the House of Ashes before we stopped. I've got something vaguely coherent. What I realized was: * The End Goal was really hard to define for reasons you noted, BUT it didn't have to be the same for the various factions you get when you mix ZQ with a DD game that's been running for a few years and gone from 1888 through 2015 in terms of when scenarios were set! This freed me up considerably. * During the on-going hiatus in the game, it hit me. I cannot run Treason in the Blood. Or at least, if I do, I need to disassemble it the way I did Zalozhniy Sanction. This has nothing to do with ZQ's flaws and strengths; it just doesn't fit what my larger campaign set up. And that's fine -- now that I understand it is the case. And yes, the "how to play the game" in NBA and what ZQ actually does are very different. (Nor is this the only Gumshoe game I've hit this situation with -- ask me about Fearful Symmetries sometime. I LOVE Fearful Symmetries, and we are having an UTTER BLAST with it, but there's similar contradictions in "how to run this" and what is and isn't shown in examples.)
