10.34 update is now available and small P11 update
Added 2024-08-13 14:05:32 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
This is just a small update updating web view component and controller input handling component.
I'm still grinding away on Playnite 11. I currently don't have anything interesting to mention other that I solved my dilemma about WPF vs Avalonia and P11 will for sure use WPF on release. TL;DR is simply that developer experience on Avalonia didn't improve very much and would be big roadblock to Playnite's theme and plugin ecosystem. I actually invested considerable amount of time to work on some tools to improve Avalonia's DX but I realized that's basically full time project on its own so I put it on back burner for now. I'll explain my decision in more detail when alpha build is ready.
Thank you very much for continued support despite P11 progressing slower than I would like.
Josef

Hopefully Avalonia or some other tool will be more usable in a few years. I'd love a linux port but I'm more than willing to wait.

2024-11-11 09:15:33 +0000 UTCfor sure, i am well aware of what is involved as I am working towards making a large FOSS Windows c# project cross-platform myself. im just glad to hear that it's not an idea that's been thrown out

2024-10-01 23:09:47 +0000 UTCLinux support always was something that was planned to be looked into in long term, nothing on that front changed. It's not just about being able to make native Linux build, supporting that ecosystem is way more work than that.

2024-10-01 17:44:22 +0000 UTCof course it wouldnt but it's currently a major barrier. is linux support still a possibikity on the table? obvs not for P11

2024-10-01 17:34:46 +0000 UTCUsing Avalonia would not mean automatic Linux support, so nothing really changed when it comes to considering Linux support from where we are now. P11 was not planned to support Linux.

2024-09-28 18:20:45 +0000 UTCDoes this mean that Linux support is no longer being considered?

2024-09-28 17:55:26 +0000 UTCAll game library related data (games, fields, covers etc.) will be transferable. What will not be transferable is everything else, stuff like application settings for example.

2024-08-14 08:23:25 +0000 UTCYou've mentioned in an earlier Entry that because of how different P11 Some user data won't port from 10 to 11, will the categories we've created for our collection be affected?
