Honestly can't believe you gave "Written in Blood" an A. I love the mini-setting, I love the adventure hooks it sets up, but then it doesn't do anything with them. As for what we're given (SPOILERS AHOY):
* How are the farmers mind-controlled and what's the motive for sending them there to slaughter festival-goers, given the baddie is trying to lure victims to its lair?
* Why is one of the not-zombies carrying Kianna's artwork in its pocket?
* The PCs are literally strangers from another world -- why would granny choose them to go look for Kianna?
* Not a question -- NPCs hitchhike along for the sole purpose of providing exposition (and "roleplaying," I guess) and then vanish.
* What do the PCs actually *do*? They go to the place, fight some claws, find the cellar where Kianna and the baddie are waiting patiently for them, at which point maybe they learn the heartbreaking story (they otherwise have absolutely no engagement or interaction with it) and then kill the baddie.
* Again, the baddie apparently just wants to eat. It's using Kianna to lure victims to its lair. So what's the instigating event for the adventure? It sends happy meals out to randomly kill people half a day's travel away. WTF?
*Such* a cool setting, and so many possibilities for adventure in it, and what we got was IMO just terrible. I'd love to hear more about what worked so well for you.
