Remixing Avernus (Early Access PDF, v2021-11-29)

Didn't we just do one of these?

Yes. That one included everything through the end of Part 7. This one, on the other hand, includes everything through the end of Part 8... and the super secret epilogue!

And that is, in fact, the end of the Alexandrian Remix of Descent Into Avernus.

So we're done, right? This is the final file?

Well... not quite. There are a couple caveats.

First, as I've mentioned before, midway through the Remix we completely revamped the organization of the second half. References in the first half of the Remix, as a result, inaccurate. I need to go through everything and fix those (and also hyperlink them).

Once I do that, there'll be a final release of the Patron-exclusive PDF.

Second, as with the Dragon Heist Remix, there are a number of addendums and ancillary resources that I think would be very cool. It's likely that you'll continue to see these crop up on the Alexandrian as the opportunity presents itself (just as we've seen with Dragon Heist).

What's next for the Alexandrian? In no particular order:

- More GMing stuff, including a How to Run a Dungeon series.
- Storm King's Thunder
- Icewind Dale
- Dweredell
- Getting the Youtube channel straightened out with more regular content

Oh, that's weird. I didn't realize the broken bookmarks were getting encoded in the PDF at all. Fixing bookmarks is also on the list for the final file. You'd think it would be an easy fix, but for some reason it isn't. (The problem is that the Title style isn't a heading. It's the Title. But apparently there's no way to tell Word to treat it as a heading. I can fix it when generating a Table of Contents in Word, but this has no effect on the Navigation pane or the PDF bookmarks it generates.)

This is awesome. It's so great you finished it, even if my players are a fair ways off the map by now. (Literally -- we got to Avernus before you got to the hex map, so most of my stuff is in different places. :) We still have to close this out and save Elturel somehow. One small bit of feedback: your mega PDF has got a table of contents that Mac Preview can use to jump around, which is super awesome. But for some reason it only contains the subsection headings ("What if the PCs Abandon Elturel?") and *not* the major section headings ("Part 8: The End"). I don't know if there's an easy way for you to fix that, but if you can, would make it easier to scan the list and figure out quickly where I want to jump to.

I greatly appreciate that you took the time to ponder some of the possible endings and future adventure seeds at campaign's end. In my experience, players love seeing the effects of their previous characters' actions in future campaigns and this provides some great ideas.
