Remixing Avernus (Early Access PDF v2021-05-17)
Added 2021-05-17 18:15:55 +0000 UTCThis one is a bit rougher than usual because I'm in the middle of developing the hex key for the Avernus and that's a multi-headed hydra that's evolving several different sections of the document. (Hex key, rumor table, etc.)
My plan had been to finish this work before the next release, but several patrons have asked for as much hexcrawl material as I can give them because their players are currently prepping to leave Fort Knucklebones.
If you've been watching my Twitch streams, you've seen this material evolving and know that I am:
- Adapting the locations in DIA (done)
- Including locations from DMs Guild supplements (done)
- Including locations from the AL adventures (in progress)
- Adding new locations to fill any remaining (TBD)
One key thing we're doing is distributing the four components of the Dream Machine (astral pistons, heartstone, Nirvanan cogbox, and Phelegethosian sand) across the hexcrawl. As previously noted, the goal is to have a minimum of three each. On p. 198 you'll find a list of where I'm tracking the hexes in which these components have been included so far (this will eventually develop into a proper rumor table and also be used to seed the initial leads given by Mad Maggie).
Checking that list you'll see that we've actually done a pretty good job of distributing them so far, with the exception of the Nirvanan cogbox. You'll want to make sure to toss a few more of those out into the Avernian wastes.
