Remixing Avernus - Part 6D-E: Lulu's Memories (The Memory Mystery)

This section of the Remix appears pretty firm now. I think I'll have the expanded triggered memories locked down soon (hopefully tomorrow). It's possible that I will then just skip the memory-related revelation lists (which need to be fleshed out with content from the Avernian hexcrawl in Part 7) so that we can move forward.

It is POSSIBLE that I will actually be doing Avernus design work on the Tuesday stream. (There's a chunk of work that I think will be potentially interesting to watch and discuss on stream, but I need to get some stuff lined up.)

Our December hangout will be Wednesday, December 9th @ 12pm CST. Add it to your calendar now!

UPCOMING STREAMS @ Twitch:

Remixing Avernus - Part 6D-E: Lulu's Memories (The Memory Mystery)

BTW, our party has finally cleared the van Thampur Cellars, with a full wipe of van Thampurs and collection of both the puzzle box and the Shield. We played out a full investigation of the crater of Elturel, the journey from Elturel to Baldur's Gate, and murder investigation. As DM, I thought it all worked really well, with the possible exception of what it's done to campaign pacing. "Chapter 2: Ill met in Baldur's Gate" lasted literally months of play time. The paladin got really attached to the refugee camp, and spent a fair bit of play time working on their problems even beyond the murders. The illusionist wrote up having had a long-ago lover in Baldur's Gate, who turned out to be now fallen on hard times and under Thalamra's thumb, and also the legal owner of the tannery and pressured not to ask questions about what was going on there. Also, "Tarina" became Petra Guthmere, said illusionist's unknown love child. Thurstwell was busy spying on the PCs through a magical tattoo inscribed on their street urchin/guide, and also made several deals with them via an imp emissary. In the third deal, he totally sold out Amrik, sending the PCs to the greasiest van Thampur's love nest. They assassinated him with his pants down, and also discovered that his secret lover was none other than the lost daughter, Petra. Thurstwell promptly made sure for a large bounty to be placed on the PCs heads. They completely whiffed any chance of stopping the assassination of Duke Dillard, so they emerged from the Dungeon to discover the city being locked down under martial law. -Blaze-/-Marshall-/Duke Liara got to have an incendiary angry scene telling them what whatever should "happen" to Thalamra, she did not want it to be too quick. I replaced van Thampur Manor with Hardwick Hall of England. That made for a much more entertainingly cavernous underutilized space for the raid to run around in. The floor plan comes pre-Jacquayed, and worked super well. The PCs ended up setting Thalamra's apartment on fire to create a distraction so they could get down to the cellars without getting caught.

Hey, I think it's been a while since you've posted an updated remix PDF. The last one I have is dated 10-27, anyway. I hope I haven't missed something.
