Power Analysis: Mechakinetic

Mechakinetics are recorded to be the last of the Awakening classifications, with the first known wave beginning with the likes of Jericho, (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #92 - Ellias Freeman “JERICHO”) Radium, (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #142 - Billy Newman “RADIUM”) and Rocket (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #103 - Felicity Martin “ROCKET”) in the 1970s. However, there are rumors and evidence pointing to the first Mechakinetic Awakening being as early as 1955. July 9th, 1955, NASA reported an unidentified flying object leaving the planet’s atmosphere with speeds exceeding the sound barrier. Investigations into this event led authorities to discovering the launch site in the Alaskian wilderness, filled with what is now known to be Mechatech. Ajax has repeatedly denied any connection to the unidentified launch site. (EDITED: April 2nd, 2005)

Ajax’s first appearance came in 1989, putting a stop to several global conflicts simultaneously. The Allied Nations quickly established communications with Ajax, who was believed to be an invading alien species at the time, and negotiated several treaties ensuring his neutrality (LINK - CONTENT: EVENTS - THE AJAX NEUTRALITY SUMMIT) to ensure global panic did not escalate. Ajax revealed their intentions to spare humanity from needless war, cementing their role as a global peacekeeper. With their orbiting space station and colossal war machines, Ajax was the first to receive a S-Class Mechakinetic rating. It is thought that Ajax possesses Weapons of Mass Destruction, capable of causing global annihilation in less than an hour (LINK - CLASSIFIED: CONTINGENCIES - AJAX ARMAGEDDON). Ajax currently has several heavily armed warships in use. They are as follows: 

The Mothership is a covert, cargo transport capable of circumnavigating the globe in approximately half an hour. Maximum cargo load is unknown, but it has been used to transport 10,000 tons of military equipment at once without issue. Estimates place its max carrying capacity at a limitless scale. Treaties and agreements with the ECU has put ‘The Mothership’ in regular use for transporting soldiers, military equipment, and heroes to active warzones. (EDITED: June 22nd, 2003)

The Asphodel is a Search and Destroy-class warship designed to hunt down and exterminate large scale Evohuman threats. Until its confrontation with Grim (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #08 - Wan Rong “GRIM”) The Asphodel had a one hundred percent success rate with 97 successful missions. It is currently located in Siberia, tracking Centurion (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #337 - Renaldo Diaz  “Centurion”) (EDITED: September 7th, 2006)

The Elysium is a recovery ship primarily used for providing emergency medical care in active battlefields and warzones. It is staffed primarily by automated drones numbering in the thousands, each as capable as world class doctors. Ajax also keeps a staff of around 300 professionals employed to operate sophisticated mechatech should it be required. Current location is in Dubai, supporting efforts to bring down The Iron Maiden.

The Tartarus is an Annihilation-class warship with firepower outclassing its sister ship ‘The Asphodel.’ The Tartarus has only been deployed twice as of January 3rd, 2007. Once in Moscow to squash attempts to incite war with the United States, and again in a Greenland Evohuman prison facility, notably holding A-class Evohumans Bastion (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #781 - Oleg Novikov “Bastion”)  and Quantum (LINK - CONTENT: P.O.I #143 - Nora Payne “Quantum”). The prison was destroyed, along with all inmates inside once the Allied Nations and the ECU published the termination directives.

The Judge is an incomplete project Ajax shared with the Allied Nations and the ECU. Construction of The Judge began in 2005 when Ajax launched an additional satellite into Earth’s upper atmosphere. While this creation garnered sufficient concern and pushback, Ajax has ignored requests to halt construction. Estimations point to its completion in Q3 2019.

Current Ratings are as follows: S-Class Mechakinetic

• Ajax has unrestricted access to a majority of global communications. It is unknown if they are capable of accessing private networks created by other Mechakinetics, but it is assumed that all but the most secure networks are under his command.
  

• Ajax’s orbiting space station is hidden from any scanning or long ranged surveillance technology currently available to the ECU. Its existence was only revealed during the neutrality summit.
  

• Aside from the named warships, it is assumed that Ajax has created at least one more warship and has hundreds, if not thousands of smaller drones. The resources needed to create these mega spacecraft are immense, and Mentalist support indicates Ajax is strip mining the The Moon and Venus to meet the immense resource requirements.

“I cannot help but think that you have been fixated on this idea of united for too long. Have you considered pursuing other interests? I hear online therapy is taking off. Maybe you could give that a shot?”

“Your jests are unappreciated.”

“I just want you to expand your horizons! Put some time into something else, for goodness sake. There are a million things and more to do in this world, and yet you stubbornly choose to pursue the reorganization of the global community. Where did this all come from? Why? I never wanted this, so don’t try to claim you are fulfilling some dream I was never able to achieve.”

“I pursue it because no one else will.”

“You pursue it because it makes you feel powerful.”
