Aku Aku is... Coming Along

Ok, so, massage table foam, holy beans, batman - it's the most deceptively porous stuff in the ENTIRE WORLD. Even with 2 layers of glue, well, the glue soaked into the holes. (insert screaming) so when we paint, it'll be... rough.

I will leave glue and seeping holes alone. . .what I love is that adorable grin on Kyle's face, seriously, so handsome!

Jack

sorry, I should have read these first! I have used glue and tissue paper.

Jack

Try painting glue on and putting tissue paper on and then glue over that. the tissue paper will make a barrier over that dang absorbing foam. It can be done with strips of newspaper as well, but I really like tissue paper--white is best but depending on what you are painting color can bleed through.

Jack

Could you Mod Podge tissue paper over the foam to give the paint something to stick to?

Steve

Probably not tape because it doesn't hold paint well - paper mache would be one of the cheaper options, but I think I have enough glue and paint.

On the bright side I can hear the drums already! Seriously though, *would * a coating of duct or electrical tape help with the painting?

Curt Clark

Just more glue and paint and glue and paint and glue!

Cosplays From Trash

Oh well, life goes on, and I have fun all the while.

Cosplays From Trash

Layer of duct tape over the whole thing to paint?

Runus

How frustrating! I guess that’s the downside of using trash for your cosplays; the unpredictability of the materials

Colin Neagle

That’s lookin’ Ooga-booga!
