I wanted to share a brief update on where things stand with The Vaults of sha-Arthan:

1. The magic section is closer to completion, though it'll still be a little while more. Partly, this is because I rewrote the entire section after a change of heart about some of what I'd done previously. While this has slowed the overall writing, it's resulted in a better draft.

2. I'm editing and re-working (slightly) some of the character class material, with an eye toward turning it over for layout as an "alpha" or ashcan version. While the plain text of this will be made available to everyone, the prettier version with art will be exclusive to certain patron tiers. I'll clarify the nature of the tiers in due course.

2b. My ultimate goal is to -- slowly -- produce a series of rules and setting booklets, first as PDFs and finally as printed matter. This will take time, both due to the slowness of writing but also because the final versions will take shape based on actual play and that doesn't happen quickly.

3. To that end, my hope is that, if all goes well, I'll be able to start up the various campaigns, both synchronous (online chat) and asynchronous (play by post) shortly after the revised character class document is available in its PDF ashcan form.

4. Starting in October, I'll be making regular posts here on aspects of the setting. These will eventually be collected into a booklet of their own and laid out, like the rules material. This includes map of the Empire of Inba Iro and some of its major settlements.

Just to be clear: everything I write will be made available to everyone who's a patron. It's only the "prettier" version that will be reserved to higher patron tiers, since they'll actually cost me money to produce. Likewise, participation in the two campaigns will be open to all, regardless of patron level. I don't want to exclude anyone who's kindly been supporting these efforts.
