One of my favorite ways to shoot is when I disconnect from all technical concerns and I just try to capture what's there. Most of the time, it's a natural light situation I find myself in, and almost always in black-and-white as well. In contrast to my studio work, which is usually very prominent and all about sharpness and clarity, shooting with absolutely no regard for ISO or shutter speed or even sharpness –– well there's something very liberating about it. And I love the moods I can often capture with this approach.
