"Daily" Update: Payment Changes!

So we're three days out from our big reveal, but we've gotta address something that'll be coming with the bomb. There's a lot on the horizon for Tale Foundry and its supporters, which means we've got to shore up frayed edges. Until now, patrons have been able to join, "sample" what we have here, and then leave before the payment cycle begins. But things are about to get a lot more interesting here, so starting the 6th of January, we'll be changing to an up-front payment model.
I want to be really concise here with how this will work, and what it will change:
•Existing Patrons: Nothing changes for you.
•New Patrons: If you've joined this month but haven't been through a pay cycle yet, you'll be charged immediately for the current month (then the same as every other patron henceforth—the first day of the month).
•Brand New Patrons: After the change, patrons joining our community will pay their first month's pledge immediately, then will henceforth pay on the same schedule as every other patron (the first day of the month).
As you can see, this really only effects new patrons. But to avoid any of our new patrons feeling like they've been caught unaware (changing the the payment model near the end of the month so they're charged the same amount twice in close proximity, for instance), we plan to roll out this change January 6th.
This means that if you joined in December, nothing should be out of place for you. You'll be charged on the 1st of January like everyone else. If you're a brand-new patron and you joined between January 1st and 6th, you'll be charged on the 6th and then you'll have a nice pay buffer until the 1st of February.
This way no one should end up getting "double-charged". If there are any issues or you have any other questions, definitely let us know! This community is about all of us working together to create something meaningful.
