Added 2023-10-15 20:05:21 +0000 UTCI want to offer my deepest apologies to everyone for my failures regarding this week's Frame Trap and its aftermath. I tried to address some people's questions in our Discord about bringing Dustin Furman onto Frame Trap, and unintentionally made Brad and Dustin look bad in the process. I failed to properly account for potential reactions, and I failed by rushing out a statement which has harmed one of our guests and biggest fans. There are few things that hurt me as deeply as knowing that I've hurt others. And it's my own mistakes that have led to this absolute turmoil for Dustin, Brad, Gabby, our staff, and our community. This is my responsibility, and I'm sorry.

This is just ridiculous...! No wonder EZA is on life support. I'll still be here to the end, though. It's just too bad it seems to be so fast approaching (and that so many of the EZA's themselves seem to be doing NOTHING to avoid it). Love & respect.

2023-12-12 13:50:22 +0000 UTCI have been a EZA and LSM supporter from day one of both, and it's a shame that EZA is in such a bad shape both in content and in the treatment of a guest like Dustin. I'm considering removing my patronage but I don't want to affect Brad and Hubert which are members I still look for in the crew as Ben, Jones and Kyle left.

He’s recorded thousands of hours of media in the past 20 years so there should be plenty of evidence and yet ……

I don't listen to LSM and I don't like Colin but I think this is extremely cruel/dumb decision on Easy Allies part.

I landed at LSM. I have listened in on EA occasionally though, and I’ve been enjoying it more again. Heard Dustin on Frame Trap and thought that was awesome, so I decided to resubscribe! Now I stumble across this post. Some of y’all are so ignorant. You guys know Colin is good friends with and colabs frequently with David Jaffe, whose son is trans. They’ve talked about it on shows before, and it is wild and unfounded to think Colin is transphobic or misogynistic, except perhaps by very extreme narrow-minded definitions of those things. I’ll not make a paltry attempt at defending the nuances of his or Dustin’s or anyone else at LSM’s ideologies here, which I don’t concern myself very much with honestly except inasmuch as I find their conversations on various subjects both entertaining and reasonable (far more reasonable than some of y’all that’s for sure), but some of these comments have me wondering whether I maybe really don’t belong here anymore after all. I’m not sure what Blood said and I’m probably not gonna investigate further than what I’ve already read in these comments, but whew!Hopefully this post is an indication that there will be further LSM colabs of sorts in the future. I’m reminded of the very awkward colab between Colin and Brandon Jones several years ago. I still sometimes think back to how uncomfortable and uncertain Brandon was about it and I cringe at the memory. (BTW, I love Jones - probably getting his audio book day 1 and setting aside podcasts while I listen to it.) I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t troubled by this reaction even existing. Seems like there’s some ill-advised kowtowing to some toxicity that’d be better off rooted out and told to shove off when they raise a fuss about someone like Dustin. Anyway… I’m back for now… I guess! Love and respect?

2023-10-22 05:12:49 +0000 UTCJones, I understand where you are coming from and I do agree with you to a point - however it needs to be pointed out that the very vocal minority (namely those that stay within the confines of ResetERA) are not the kind of people that you, or the other allies, should reason with. They openly act with hostility to those who do not agree with their mindset, treating them with personal attacks and condescending attitudes (which is then further backed up by the moderators within the ERA forums, leading to the silencing of dissenting opinions preventing any dialogue from opening up). They refuse to believe that Colin, or his community, is anything but racists/homophobes/transphobes - despite there being a decently large portion of said community that is LGBT+. It is highly disingenuous to assume that an entire community is hateful/ignorant - yet this is exactly what they think. Jones, you said it best on the Fireside chat itself - you should be able to open up and have a dialogue with people and act in a respectful manner, even if you differ in opinions. Yet, this particular group (again vocal minority) refuses to do so. This is a 5 year old comment on a cup of Jones. Please Allies engage in some self reflection

2023-10-21 20:24:53 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the episode and Dustin seemed like a nice guy. I think it is good to have outside people on to grow the community and the company. We all need to learn to get along with people who have differently beliefs but are kind at heart. We all have the capacity to change and maybe being around the allies would help LSM change their point of view.

I've listened to every Sacred Symbols podcast and most of their others. Haters of Collin on a basis that he is "transphobe" and misogynistic needs to stop. You're just plain wrong. He can be brash and rude at times but usually in a comedic tone. These things he says are usually clipped and taken out of context. I've never heard him once say anything hateful. Ever. " But I heard he said there are only 2 genders"!!! Has he ever really said that? Did you hear him say that, or did you just hear someone else say he said that? Even if it was true, people are allowed to have opinions different then yours. People need to grow up and stop melting every time they hear that someone thinks differently then you. If you get triggered because you chose to listen to someone on a podcast who is affiliated with someone you don't like it's time to stop listening to that podcast. Your triggers are your problem not everyone else's. So that podcast wasn't for you but someone else probably really enjoyed it. The EZA community prides it's self on 2 aspects , inclusiveness and "love and respect". Well to be honest they do both those things better at LSM. It's probably the reason they have more then triple the patrons and are growing. While EZA lacks those aspects and are dying. I truly hope EZA lasts decades but if they don't then I'll still have many great podcasts and a great community over at LSM. Love and Respect. P.S. maybe some people should look up the definitions of those words and put them into practice.
