Head on over to gamehistory.org/donate to learn more and give today.
Here it is, our FINAL holiday treat, and our Christmas present to you: a wonderfully bizarre game with fascinating ties to video game history called Super Sushi Pinball.

This isn't just an interesting game on its own, it's also a missing link in Sony video game history! When Sony's U.S. publishing division first established itself all the way back in late 1988, they announced three titles: Super Dodge Ball, Super Sushi Pinball, and Super Rescue, all of which were localizations of games released by other publishers in Japan. Only Super Dodge Ball came out, and the U.S. versions of the other two were lost media until now.
So in essence this represents a snapshot of an alternate reality where this was Sony's business model: simply bringing over games licensed from Japan and adding a U.S. twist. They would change course soon after, focusing on European games and games based on their own movies and then, of course, the PlayStation.
Remember that you're seeing this one day early as a patron, so please don't spread this around until tomorrow! The video is unlisted, and the ROM file is attached below.
