Thanks to your help these past couple months, we've finally been able to start our largest ongoing project to date: The Video Game Media Assets Collection. We're archiving a collection of 400+ physical materials that contain digital assets that were sent to the video game media between 1996 and approximately 2011. Learn more about it over on the public blog:

I won't repeat too much of that post here, but I will repeat that this material is really important for contextualizing a game's history. By being able to examine the raw material that was sent to the press, we can see not only how a game was marketed to the media, but how a game was made. These assets often include screenshots of in-development games generated months - sometimes years - before a game's completion, offering rare glimpses into the development process.
This isn't exactly a project with an end date, it's something we'll be working on indefinitely. In addition to our existing backlog, we're going to start a campaign to acquire more of this material and make sure that it doesn't disappear!
