The Witcher: What Lies Beneath

As the great alchemist of Pont Vanis, Gestrad Nardi, would tell his students: “There is dormant power in all things great and small.” Triss knew this to be true as well. Sure, alchemy isn’t the most glamorous or enticing school of magic to study. It is, however, a great tool for any aspiring witch or wizard.

Thus it was only natural for Yennefer to resort to the ancient arts after all of her magical abilities failed to cure whatever curse held the creature known as Uma. Kiera knew of an ancient potion that was said to lift any curse. Although it was lost to time, known only to a few of the old hags that still cling to life in Velen, the Witch had managed to procure herself a copy of the formulae.

Out of options and running out of time, this potion could be the only way to cure Uma - to find Ciri. Neither Triss nor Yennefer would leave any stone unturned in their quest. Therefore it was agreed among the three witches that they will set forth to find and collect the ingredients they need.

Drawing straws on which ingredient each one would set out to collect, Triss’ quest would take her to the misty and mountainous lands of Skelige, a series of islands whose people are as hardy as the land itself…

Time for some self reflection. First time using the new Triss model here and she is, as always, just perfect. Out of all the models I use, she is one I’ve done the most work to. From the shape and colour of her nipples, to her skin and hair colour. She is perfect in my opinion. Cannot fault her at all.

Now, on to the set. Overall, I’m really happy with this one. Went into it wanting to try and go for a misty, moody vibe - something almost dreamlike. Which is why I kept the story to a minimum to give it that mysterious feel. That came out top notch along with the lighting and water. Out of all the environments I’ve made, I think I put the most amount of time into this one. And thankfully, the results are worth it!

I did struggle a bit in this set. Particularly around the middle where I wasn’t sure which direction to take it. The drowners models were a pain to use - not the worst, but not the best either. This issue to pose them made getting some interesting poses a real challenge. As with my other Witcher sets with the monsters, it’s a case of just trying to work around their limitations.

I’ll be keen to hear any thoughts on the section with the eggs. Don’t usually do this, but Triss’ model had a pregnancy shapekey that I wanted to try out. I’m not usually into that stuff but I felt like it really clicked with the theme of the story and allowed a small change of pace.

Other than that, I’m proud of this set. I had a real issue with creative blocks in the middle where I didn’t get any progress done at all for entire days. But I pushed through, worked around the issues and ended the set up in a good place. Can’t ask for more really.

You can find the set over in the archive, under 'What Lies Beneath'.

Cheers,

Pretty much my thoughts. It's not something I'm super into, but it added some variety to the set and is always an option in the future if the story is fitting. Thanks man!

I think the eggs were a cool touch. It’s not really a fetish of mine, but they looked great and made sense for a fish race to produce. Also gives some more options for different finishes now instead of just cumshots or creampies.
