This release is a companion to our video on Myrkul, the Lord of Bones and God of the Dead. It is divided into two versions: one packet meant to be used by Dungeon Masters and another by Players.

DM Packet
This packet serves as a guide you can use to represent the Church of Myrkul, unveiling the rites, holy days, necromantic practices, and the grim responsibilities of priests that venerate a God of the Dead. Within, you will also find stat blocks for Necromites (the skeletal servants of the faith), the priests of the church, and even an Avatar of the God of the Dead himself.

Many have grown inspired by the Avatar of Myrkul from Baldur’s Gate 3, and that includes me. As such, I have designed a version that DMs can unleash at their tables! Complete with the legendary material components required to summon it, the divine relics and cursed treasures it brings, and the terrible Phylactery of Souls it uses to reap the souls of the living. It is a CR 28 monstrosity that will haunt your player's nightmares for weeks!

The packet features the incredible artwork of Kim Van Deun, whose rendition of the Avatar of the Reaper is absolutely terrifying!

Player Packet
This packet introduces the Gray One, a cleric subclass. It is a 5th-edition redesign of the original 2nd-edition subclass once created for the followers of Myrkul. The subclass grants its followers mastery over raising the dead, deeper knowledge on how to command and interact with undead, and immunity to the ravages of disease and plague (which often accompanies the dead).

The subclass also restores three iconic spells from 2nd edition, once granted by Myrkul to his priesthood: Bone Bite, Corrupt, and Dolorous Decay. These spells are exclusive to the Gray One and may be prepared as normal cleric spells by them. These unique spells also appear throughout the stat blocks found on the DM Packet, which you can use to surprise players!
