RJ Ramblings & August Calendar

Hey everybody!

This last week has been pretty busy for me, aside from working on the game as normal.

On Tuesday, we drove to Broken Bow lake, up in Oklahoma near the Ouachita Mountains. It's not too terribly far from where I live, so the drive wasn't much at all, but I'd never been up there. We stayed in a beautiful cabin. It had a jacuzzi bath tub and a hot tub and a big california king bed and a fireplace and was out in the woods and had a balcony patio that looked over a creek in the back. We called it the "fuck cabin" for obvious reasons. We had a lot of fun in it.

And we went on several hikes around the area. Most of them only 1-2 mile hikes, but we did go on one 4 mile hike. Hiking was the main reason I wanted to go to this place, and we tried to pack in as much as we could in the three days we were there. Then we went back to the fuck cabin and did some of that as well. It was a pretty great three days overall.

It was a short vacation, but it did a few things for me. Let me get away from everything at home and forget about all the various commitments and responsibilities that I have. It reminded me of how much I love my partner and refreshed our relationship a bit. And it made me want to do more things outdoors. I really want to go canoeing sometime, for instance.

We've been talking for a while about doing longer backpacking trips, so I think that is in our future somewhere. First, we're going to get a tent and just try camping somewhere closer to home. Thinking we may do that pretty soon. I've never really been a camping type of girl, but I've really been having fun with this stuff lately.

While we were gone on vacation, both of my dogs stayed with my mom. If you've been following my ramblings, you know that my mom has been keeping one of my dogs, Peluche, because he keeps starting fights with the other one, Panchito. Well, when we got back from vacation, we decided to just take them both home. I miss having Peluche at home too much to leave him over at my mom's permanently. They've still been fighting, but it hasn't been quite as bad. I'm not sure what we're going to do about it in the future, but for now I'm just going to keep putting up with it like I have been. It's just so stressful to have them always be one second away from fighting. Peluche might end up going back over to my mom's, but for now I like having him at home. Occasionally, he's really sweet.

We had a D&D session yesterday that I've been prepping for a while, and it was a blast. That's another thing I've really been into lately. I've really enjoyed printing and painting my miniatures and planning out the D&D sessions. And the game has been really fun too. I like my little group and have been looking forward to hanging out with everybody every session.

Aside from the vacation and the D&D, I haven't been doing much else. I've been playing Stacklands a little in my spare time and that game is super fun and addictive. And that's about it. It's so hot in Texas right now, it's hard to do anything outside.

Hope you're all doing great! Things are going to be back to normal around my place for a few weeks at least. Sometime in October, were planning another longer vacation, but until then I'll continue working away on the game.

I'm putting the August calendar below. It's a pretty normal month. Nothing major. Hope you'll stick around with me for another month! Thanks for all the support! Love ya!

Grimtown

*insert Grims typical Come Home mention here* ^^ Gf and I are massive gamers, so that won't be a problem for us, thankfully.

Awesome. My partner and I started playing Divinity: Original Sin together. We both liked it, but never finished it. She wants to play games less than I do, so it's always like me wanting to play play play and her only being up to it for an hour every few days or so lol

I'll take it!

Will be playing the game with my gf and we're waiting for the full release, too. Hopefully she'll like it, cause she usually doesn't like games with iso perspective.

I bought BG3 today :D Waiting for it to full release before I play though.

Sounds like a perfect little vacation with lots of fun and "fuuuun"...that sounds weird and sounded not as cringey in my head.^^ btw: Since you like D&D, might wanna check out BG3 and especially the newest critical role episodes, someone kinda fell off a chair in one of those^^
