Pirating

To be clear, guys, nothing awful has happened. I think that some people just might not have understood my position on this, and that I did not want this patron-only content shared. It's not a huge deal right now, and I'm not gonna be waging any war against pirates or anything. I just wanted to make my position clear.

To say I'm speechless would be both accurate and totally wrong. I will choose my words carefully because I don't want to offend. But whoever is doing this is not only ripping of R.J., but all of us who are donating as well. We support you because we love your work and want you to go farther and and deeper (cough) with something that we can enjoy for days to come. (So much for choosing my words). I also know (as I'm sure everyone else does) that this does help keep the game free. As a man who now makes quite a salary in his day job, I do remember when I really needed free content because it would have been a choice between that and eating. If it wasn't for "Free Creators" and to another angle, "Pirates," who provided me with free tools and entertainment, I probably wouldn't be where I am now. But I used those things with a silent promise. "Whenever I get on my feet, I'm buying everything I like," I used to tell myself. Speaking of feet R.J. uh... Well I'm sure you get it. So I'm here now and I'm buying everything. Games, software, donating to modders. For two reasons. To keep my promise, and second, to help keep it going for those who need it. Who knows, I may have to come back down the way I came. So let's not put R.J. into any awkward positions. (Dang it)! You know what I mean!

Not sure who you are talking about but I didn't find her game at a pirated site most of the people I have told to try the game get through steam u know with it been free and all

That's fine. I interact with pirate sites also. I don't hold anything against people who play games off sites like that. I try to make sure that everybody is able to play the game. Almost all of my content will be available for free eventually. There are a few things, like the bonus images, the calendars, the DLC, that I've tried to keep off of pirate sites though, to keep something of value to people who subscribe. I'm not upset at pirate sites or people that use them. This post is just to make it clear that it's not okay to share patron-only content on those sites.

Thank you for all you do RJ! I know personally, I became a patron after finding your game on Steam. Being able to help out the creator always seemed a great way to thank them for their content and hard work. Just my belief.

Most of us found you through pirate sites though.

I will admit that most creators that I support, I may have initially discovered via a pirated and/or free copy of their work. Partly because there's a lot of unfinished*, unpolished, poorly paced slush out there. But when something stands out, like yours, I gladly support the effort. But yeah, sharing patreon exclusive content seems sketchy. (* - I realize "technically" this is unfinished, but you've given us a TON of content, above and beyond, far more than the ones I'm referring to.)
