Some Thoughts
Added 2019-01-20 20:50:14 +0000 UTCI've been thinking about the tiers. They arethere because everyone else had them when I was looking at other Patreons and while I've been a LOT more active in posting stuff for 1 and 2 this year so far... looking at the stats, I only have 10 people that are NOT tier 4 and half of those are tier 3.
I'm thinking of getting rid of the tiers altogether, or maybe having just two - the full monty, and the one where someone just wants to toss a buck in the tip jar for me doing what I'm doing. BUT reduce the cost of the full monty tier a little bit. Maybe. Or just eliminate the two middle ones. I'd like to hear from the people in 2 and 3 about this, please, at ebonart.gallery@gmail.com
I've had a relatively consistent amount of people for almost a full year now, but I'd like to grow the site. I know it's a pretty niche thing but maybe if I dropped a little, volume would more than make up for it. But it's not something I can actually test and see how it goes - you drop a price and people absolutely will kick you in the nuts if you raise it again, and I am fully sympathetic to that viewpoint.
I've thought about starting a more mainstream (ie, non-porn) comic but stupid Patreon will not let you have more than one site and I'd need to differentiate it from this site. There are other places but they seem a lot more finicky to use than Patreon, but I am sure I've not seen all of them. That kind of deal I usually see as $1 a page or something like that - I need to do more research.
I WILL NOT stop doing superhero porn for you people, though :) If I do this it WILL NOT cut into the time I spend for y'all :)

Thanks for your kind words :) I've tried advertising on several sites, but apparently not the right ones.

2019-01-21 18:48:35 +0000 UTCI think eliminating the middle tiers would make it less confusing perhaps? Your actual end product/reward is the full length PDF comics, so I'm genuinely curious about the lower tiers and why people would stop there. The $1+ I could see for just wanting to support your work, but the $5 especially seems like a strange tier altogether. It almost feels like you're cutting yourself short and essentially valuing your full comics at $5 since it's full image sets, just without the text and formatting. I'd also be surprised if your $10 was "too high" for people considering the amount of content in the comics. I'm not quite sure why your growth isn't where you want it to be. Maybe posting on your other sites to advertise may help? Or maybe trying to reach out and collab with other artists? While the content is a bit niche, I'd hate to see you undervalue your work, but I certainly understand the desire to grow the site. It really would be strange to me though if people were held back by the max $10 price.

Bludwing used to do good stuff, but now he gets $20 for crude sketches. I dropped him after a few days of that. You are priced too low, especially the lower two tiers.
