Coruscating pulchritude! And I don’t care for the sound of ‘ignominy’. Lover is fine and much better than “I’m in a relationship with my partner”. The horror!

2024-06-23 08:40:56 +0000 UTCI have that feeling about astigmatism. Feels like it should be “I have a stigmatism in my eye” Might just be me 😁

2024-06-21 15:15:55 +0000 UTCHahaha! "Lover" is one of my most hated words too. :D And I'm nodding my head along to the rest--over here I grew up knowing every worship song was 3 chords, and my husband and his sister, who played music at weddings, loathed Pachelbel's canon for the same reason Rob does. Wonderful that you've found a way to be creative and entertain yourself with absolutely no pressure! Enjoy!

2024-06-21 14:26:58 +0000 UTC50Hz hum in the UK is from a n AC power supply with no / insufficient / failed filter capacitors. It could be something on the same circuit elsewhere in the house.

2024-06-21 01:04:14 +0000 UTCWait does this mean that Jill cosplay as Dell Conagher confirmed? 😁 I don't think there are any words that give me an "ick" though the concept strikes me as sound. I've heard folks complain about "moist", and "panties". I'm not sure to what extent this has to do with the literal sounds in the word and to what extent it's simply down to associations the word has, or dislike of people heard using the word. I know I'm no fan of the "sigma speak" and it's associated words but I also know that's 100% down to "too many people won't stop repeating them for no purpose other than to irritate others" and that after that fad dies down (and presumably whole new sets of words will become abused in this fashion) these particular words will no longer concern me.
