A 🔥Hot Mess🔥

An update for you, friends! In video form! This one is early access for all Patrons because...well, you're all wonderful and without you supporting me I would not be able to Do The Thing. Also you need to know about when to expect Draft 2: The Draftening, which I think will be by the end of the month.

$5+ Patrons, hope to see you in approx 8 hours for the livestream. Everyone else, have a lovely weekend!

Two things I've taken away from this: - Jill's book is going to be one of my most favourite things ever. - Jill didn't already have a blueray of A Knight's Tale, which is a heretical misstep and needs correcting immediately! Jill, if you still don't have one when/if you see this, I WILL BUY YOU ONE! In fact... *slides into dm's*

You make me feel useful!

Super exciting!

This. This is so true. I'm primarily a visual artist, but I've found that the tension between the perfect and the good exists there too. Don't be discouraged by it! Looking forward to seeing the next draft too!

Just one person's view, but speaking entirely for myself I would strongly prefer a non-Amazon option. But yes, writing first. Well, sleep first, then writing. Sleep make the brain good.

Allan

Doing all the things! You got this, Jill, and we are here for you and it.

A hardcopy would be lovely! Would you consider a kickstarter to fund different options (hardcover, audio, ebook). I imagine you could include different artist's contributions as kickstarter additions. Like Caroline's ideal cover art as an add on bookmark.

I'm glad to see you're taking the independent route. It has so much more freedom, especially when you're doing something that doesn't exact fit the standard genre categories. (I may be biased by having ten novels out indie.) Best of luck on the rewriting. There are two conflicting pieces of advice on this: "It's only late until it's published, but if it sucks it sucks forever," and "art is never finished, only abandoned." Brace yourself for publishing when it's good, not when it's perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Karl Gallagher

Wow! It is really taking shape.

On the plus side, the weather seems to have broken (at least in my bit of England) so, while the mess might persist, at least it's less hot!

Turns out, I'm babysitting my grandsons during the livestream... We shall see if there is a Crisis at that time or if I shall be able to join you!
