No, honest.
There I was, five years old, watching him and Batman jump around on TV in animated form and in the live action campy TV show, and I was hooked. Robin was a kid like me, and he was looked after and trained by the best dad in the world, and he got to go on adventures, and... shit, he got tied up. A lot.
I mean, like, A LOT.
And holy hard-ons did that affect me later, when I started realizing why I got all tingly when I'd see Burt Ward, 19 playing 14, in his peach-colored hose, struggling with all his might as dudes pinned his arms or as he and Batmen fell victim to yet another crazy brightly-colored-gas trap. I stared holes in comics where he was sprawled out, spandex-covered ass in the air.
Whew.
So, it was no surprise to me to later - much later - find that there were people who loved the same thing. And then I found I liked writing about and then making art about the same thing.
