Early Bears: I Fixed Jupiter Ascending (You're Welcome?)

Well, sometimes you just need to...take twenty-ish minutes of video time to fix up the many action scenes in Jupiter Ascending? I guess?

(It was a surprising amount of fun to make. I'm considering the Fight Scene Fix as an occasional recurring thing, so do let me know what you think. "It's too short/long", "Love it/Not a big fan", "I don't like the structure": I promise not to be offended :D)

And for the masochists among you, there's a long plot summary at the end, as well as a short one to set us up.

Just watching the action clips in this video wore me out. I haven't seen this film, but I am reminded of when I saw Man of Steel in the theaters (I did really like the film though I'm really more a Superman the Movie purist). I felt the end battle was just too much sensory overload and went on for too long, I actually dozed off in the middle of it from exhaustion.

I was so disappointed in this movie when it came out. Jupiter just didn't really do anything, she was pulled along by other people making decisions.

I'm not normally one for So Bad It's Good but it's definitely bad in ways that are sometimes endearing :D (Also *tips tiara* is amazing and I may steal it for something)

You endured that movie for us. *tips her tiara* I applaud you.

Jessica Darke

this was delightful. *pours you a third drink* you earned it.

Robert Calhoun

I've seen the movie twice (no, I'm not sure why the 2nd viewing either) and I agree with all of your changes. Goodness gracious, there's almost a really good SF-ish romp in that hot mess somewhere but ugh.

Bear bones summary? Edit: I would love to see what you make of the Battle of the Mounds in Conan the Barbarian (1982). Edit 2: I hear you about the unnecessary fight scenes, but movie executives often say "We need an action scene every twenty pages" because they're afraid that the audience will fall asleep. They think that anyone who would watch JA has the attention span of a fly.
