A Tired But Satisfied Vlog

Probably the tiredness is why it's so rambly. On the other hand (excitement!), there is a cameo from Ursa Minor, plus a little bit of footage from the final scene sprinkled in there. Albeit without sound, because there's a little tuning up to be done.

In the meantime, I am home from work because I have got one of those knock-you-off-your-feet viruses. So I am mostly napping and occasionally watching DVDs.

Which reminds me, there will be an Into The Spider-Verse review up on 13th November (or earlier if you are a $1.25+ Patron). So yay! Timely completion of Patron requests, it can happen! Sometimes!

How are you all doing? And do you have any tips for getting better faster, aside from 'STOP DOING WORK WHILE YOU'RE SICK, JILL'?

I'm going to try that one, I promise. I'm going to go take another nap right now, in fact.

Wish me good sleep.

And the pampering? Nothing good with a good pamper. Also, try to limit yourself to 40 hours' work per week.

Anders

Thank you :) Yes, I also enjoy the cold, but it doesn't necessarily reciprocate!

Jill Bearup

I have not tried chicken broth. Or breakfast in bed, to be fair. :)

Jill Bearup

Good tip, but it's not sinus-y, merely...tiring. At the moment anyway!

Jill Bearup

I KNOW I KNOW I'M TRYING. I'm taking lots of naps, I swear.

:D Well you know, my sense of scale is properly Northern Irish, where you can drive across the entire country in two hours, including stopping for a coffee. Rural Kent vs. Concrete Kent is apparently the distinction I wanted, as Concrete (West) Kent is basically a suburb of London. So I'm told anyway. There are more remote parts of Kent, but frankly you're never more than an hour from a Tesco!

Jill Bearup

Ah. Rural, where the nearest supermarket is 25 minutes away. XD that is adorable (to this Canadian)

Natalie Arnold

Sleep well! *mutters under breath* stop working while you're sick, jill! ;)

It's looking very good, and interesting. I don't mind the ramble, I do it too when I'm very tired and have a mind stuffed full of all the things that have happened lately. Is your cold sinus-y? I swear by using a nettie pot, or a sinus rinse. I use distilled water, since we are on a well, and warm it slightly in the microwave. Also drink a lot of water. I hope you feel better soon!

Michael and Theresa Andresen

Have you tried chicken broth? Your husband should be pampering you and give you breakfast in bed.

Anders

I don’t really mind the ramble, as I have quite the tendency to ramble myself, from time to time. But you definitely do seem tired, I agree, doubtlessly not helped by the sickness. I had a recent bout with a congestive sinus infection that wasn’t fun, and really the best thing that works for me personally is the tried and true get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water approach. Which I’m sure you’re at least trying to do, so do that and do more of it and you’ll get over the hump! About the production itself, it does look like you’re making good progress and enjoying yourself as you do it. I was going to suggest if the candlestick was causing a problem then film the scene at angles around the sides, but it seems like that may have happened anyway with the idea of the extra takes from the different angles of footage you mentioned as it were. It would look more dynamic anyway, a conversation with a focus going back and forth, angled upon the speaker, to give them more of a presence. But I definitely wish you good sleep and also pray for a swift recovery. The season is not kind to the body, though I do personally enjoy the cold, sometimes the cold doesn’t enjoy us!
