That's FIGHTIN' TALK!
Added 2019-07-20 18:43:35 +0000 UTCHello beautiful Patrons, how are you doing?
It has been something of a TIME at Chez Bearup over the last...er...year, actually, but hey ho. It hasn't been a bad time, don't get me wrong, but I, as you will have seen from my last video, am trying to do ALL THE THINGS and it has been making me a little crazy.
HOWEVER. Huge Work Event will be done soon, which gives me a few days of tidying up loose ends before I go a-fighting in Sandwich, Kent. Which I am looking forward to so much that I have started packing already, eight days before I actually leave.
I have also been watching a lot of acting videos on YouTube, which I alluded to on my Twitter, including an Uta Hagen class which includes a scene from The Taming of the Shrew, which they have...sort of...choreographed with a fight.
And I saw it and thought, mmm, I think that you are delivering the lines too fast and nothing has time to land, and I think that the concept is good with the fight but some of the choreo needs work to fit the text. Which was then what Uta said, so I felt a bit chuffed :).
My next Patron goal is $500 a month, and I have decided that the outcome will be a stage combat video series. Like, a proper one, where I have a choreographer and a fight partner and an actual filmmaker who knows how to use a camera to film things which are not static. I have...some ideas in mind already, which may or may not work, but I tell you all this because I am very excited about the idea and wish to share it.
In video news, I am currently writing the script for Soul Music, which has required me to read Thief of Time, obviously a terrible hardship ;)
It will be published while I'm away in Sandwich beating people up, so filtered comments may be a bit slow in coming up, as they don't work properly on mobile. I will be reading comments though, to the best of my ability while probably groaning in pain.
Rehearsals for the murder mystery play are going well, and I have recorded all the scenes I am in into my phone as voice memos (in which I play all the parts very quickly, except my lines which are very slow) so I can listen to them as I work. This is much better than just reading it, and apparently works particularly well in conjunction with reading it. It has been so long since I had to memorise lots of dialogue that I had to google 'how to learn lines' but it's all good.
OK, if you have made it to the end of this missive, I congratulate you! Leave a comment and say hi, tell me something great that has happened to you recently or something you're looking forward to, and we can all congratulate you!
Comments
I have not...debating whether to watch it or whether to be surprised.
