2016-10-30 16:47:32 +0000 UTCA very interesting question. Mostly it's fanart which is commissionable, rather than fanfic, but the legality is...questionable. Fanfic is mostly protected by its non-commercial status, it's not worth the bother to fight it, but...still iffy, if the copyright holder wants to make a fuss.
