2025/02/20 - Goth girl WIP.

Hi, all my patrons!

Work is in progress.

When I first encountered this topic, I thought a lot about how to approach it. The first time I came to know the word Goth was in a fashion style like Goth lolita in Japan.

After that, when I went to the U.S. to study, the first time I saw emo goth-style makeup and costumes, it was a great culture shock. (At the time, Avril Lavigne was also active, but it was weak to call it goth-style.) The dark makeup with black hair came as a fresh shock to me.

I'm going to make it with that feeling, but when I think about it, it felt like a necromancer. So this time, I'm working on a goth-style woman who brings back the warrior. If you look at the reference photos, there's a goth woman with wings, which is quite attractive in silhouette, so I'm going to make the wings in the back as well.

I'm still undecided when it comes to skirts and costumes. I was going to do my work in modern clothes, but I don't think there's a sense of heterogeneity between the two characters if I match them a little bit with the warrior's period clothes.

I think it's going to be quite fun, and I'll cheer up and proceed.

Looking nice, but it imho smaller boobs would look better πŸ˜… They looked smaller in your earlier WIP...

I can't recommend the movie The Craft enough as a possible point of inspiration

Maybe it's just me, but I think of goth as presenting a more fragile physicality, juxtaposed with supernatural power. Black is slimming, and in some of these reference photos black has been used especially around the neck to create a slighter appearance. Most of your models have been stronger and more athletic; maybe slimmer limbs and shoulders and/or a softer and more retrousse bust would create a different feeling. The necromantic composition seems interesting but it seems like the figure herself is much more physically powerful than the creature she is raising.

My work always flows differently from what I originally intended while looking for a reference. There is no concept art, so sometimes it can be improvised. Honestly, it's kind of like a necromancer fallen angel. It's just the costume that's goth. But now the costume that I'm making again is the dress, and I'm starting to feel no more goth.πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Ok, that's not what I thought about when I read the next topic would be goth girl. This looks really interesting.
