DESIGNS AHOY: Time for some obnoxious "Lovely Armors" for the Half-Elf from THE LAST PARTY!

As I'm grinding through some initial page roughs for long-gestating fantasy comic The Last Party (aka the one fantasy project I would actually draw myself, as opposed to writing-only dealies The Chaste and the Chained and Unidentified Fantasy Offering), thought I'd show you fine folks some of my designs for the many, many armors worn by the Half-Elf member of the Party:

Now, while the idea of the Half-Elf wearing a series of different magical armors (spawned from a single magic artifact) has been kicking around awhile, as seen in these previous test illos:

...only recently did it begin to belatedly dawn on Writer Me that finicky, flighty ol' Artist Me wasn't particularly interested in drawing such elaborate suits of armor (if not pseudo-mecha, as in the second illo) for dozens if not hundreds of potential pages on end.

Ah, but even more recently did it dawn on Writer Me that all of the Half-Elf's armors could be depicted as comically if not obnoxiously cheesecakey, which would amuse Artist Me considerably more:

The idea is that the Half-Elf's artifact was crafted by a demi-god or wizard who was both an armor savant and "A Man of Culture," if you follow me, so this magic item converts all the many armors it has assimilated into so-called "Lovely Armorforms," aka ultra-cheesecakey displays of the Half-Elf's deliberately Emp-like physique.

Note that the first "armorform" above was based on a truly amazing real-life set of armor, but I soon realized that that rendering all the suit's details would be far, far too time-consuming a task for Artist Me. (Note also that I've ditched the Half-Elf's ultra-long, flowing hair from those two earlier test illos for the same reason, as the effect looks very neat but is tremendously consumptive of my precious and limited work time.)

Anyhoo, back to work on a few more page roughs for this very project, before I switch back to nibbling away at the script for the second issue of Unidentified Fantasy Offering for a bit. Onward!
