Latest Beta release and fixes
Added 2022-04-05 18:34:34 +0000 UTCWe've posted our latest public beta, version 0.044. There have been a healthy dose of fixes and wrapping up of events, though there's still a lot of work to do. That being said, this is the most stable version of the game so far and will likely be the last public update until 0.05. As stated before, 0.05 will take atleast a couple months of work to complete. So the earliest tentative date would be early June.
Patrons will get access to test builds in between that time frame.
As for 0.044, here are some of the notes, as posted on the discord:
"This will be the last big update for this version. I may release another with bug fixes if there are some serious things I overlooked. The changelog pretty much explains it. Olivia is done, though her bedroom event is always fatal, there's an added option for the player to teleport out of her event if they don't want to be trapped. Lots of fixes with Anna's event as well. The big noticeable difference is the scrapping of the save transfer system. It's unfortunate but a lot of time was being invested in it with no clear pay off or guarantee of functionality. So, I made the call to do a more traditional chapter selection menu at the start screen for those who want to skip to about where they left off in their last playthrough."
On top of that there have been changes made to hygiene and vigor. The player is no longer considered filthy until the hygiene bar drops below 20%. Vigor now decreases much more slowly, but the longer you go without sleeping, the faster it decreases. If you make it past 4 days without sleeping, you will start to experience some nasty side-effects.
Here's the official changelog:
- Completely removed life ring and all references to it
- Fixed minor errors in Anna's lunch event
- Cleaned up and removed a LOT of old code that wasn't doing anything
- Weight now updates when putting objects in containers
- Removed all names of patrons that aren't clearly nicknames/usernames/etc
- Cleaned up internal code a bit
- Fixed Tina's playful foot event
- Adjusted the way struggling and escaping works in giant events (you can do these actions when prompted, unlike in normal battles when you can try to escape at any point)
- Added a third article for referencing the player in dialogue, him/her/them
- Removed access to save transfer feature
- Added option to skip to certain points in game play on the title screen, will add more options eventually
- Lowered filthy threshold. Player will now only be considered filthy when their hygiene bar is below 20%
- Some food items now replenish more vigor
- Vigor now decreases more slowly right after waking up but decreases faster the longer you are awake
- Nerfed escape chance for normal battles. The lowest it will be, regardless of how outmatched you are, is 40% for each attempt to escape
- Fixed up Annalise's unaware shoe trap event
- Fixed bug causing Anna to leave you in her glass of ice water forever
- Anna's captives now have relevant dialogue
- Gregor's quest reward shouldn't lose its unique name after wielding it anymore
- Fixed up Anna's foot massage event
- Added a freely accessible acupressure weapon in the bastion for player's to mess around with
- Added ability to leave Tina's room more easily with a dev note warning
- Added a script to allow me to have some rooms only offer a chance of escape while pinned. Most rooms will rely solely on stamina costs and not chance
- Added default endo scene for insertion events
- Simplified basic verb commands during encounters for actions such as "touch, push, lick, kiss, smell, listen, etc". This further streamlines future event creations
- Added some simple icons to the above basic commands, though not universally applied just yet
- Fixed some minor bugs and unintended behavior for both general av and insertion scenes
- Captured tinies should no longer follow you before you free them
