Chapter 2315: Xudali's Information

Lin Shi was puzzled as she walked over and asked in a low voice, "What are you doing?"

Xu Dali raised his hand and whispered, "Shh, I'm writing something. Don't make a sound." He looked at Lin Shi with bright eyes and said, "I have a feeling that County Princess's visit to Zhengdao Village this time might be our chance to leave."

Lin Shi's eyes widened. "Are you serious?"

"Not certain, but I'll do my best to help. I don't want anything else, just hope that we can clear Zhen Sheng's name. When that happens, it will be easier for him to get married and have children."

Upon hearing the possibility of their good fortune, Lin Shi's eyes welled up with tears. She gripped her clothes tightly. "Then, when you talk to County Princess later, please mention... when the time comes..."

"No need to mention it. County Princess is not someone who would let others suffer. We didn't help her much back then, but when she first arrived in Zhengdao Village, we cleared the wasteland together. Based on this bond, she entrusted me with the registration work at the estate when she left. If I can truly help her this time, there's no need for me to say anything. County Princess won't forget us."

Lin Shi nodded in agreement. "That makes sense. Then, you should write quickly. I'll prepare the spicy fried chicken."

"When Zhen Sheng comes back, have him come over."

Zhen Sheng no longer needed to pick up rocks in the wasteland like he did in the past. Their family's life had improved over the years, and he had more free time now, returning to his carefree nature from before their exile.

As a result, he had made many friends in Zhengdao Village in recent years. He knew some things even better than Xu Dali did.

Although Xu Dali had already told Shu Yu quite a bit of information earlier, it was still not detailed enough. He wrote down his additional thoughts and information, thinking it might be useful to her.

When Zhen Sheng returned, he indeed mentioned quite a few clues, especially regarding the families of those people and what they did when they took leave or met certain individuals.

Without organizing, they wouldn't have known, but once they did, Xu Dali found quite a few suspicious things.

He felt a hidden unease deep within him, a gut feeling that something big was about to happen.

He instructed Lin Shi and Zhen Sheng to keep this information confidential and not to divulge it to anyone. Then, he took the spicy fried chicken that Lin Shi had prepared and the sheets of paper he had written on, and headed towards the Fangs' house.

Shu Yu was a bit surprised when she saw him, but Xu Dali just smiled and said, "My wife made the spicy fried chicken. She originally wanted to invite County Princess and Sir Meng to our house for dinner, but she found out that you would be leaving in the afternoon, so she quickly made this signature dish and asked me to bring it over for you to try."

"Your wife is too polite." Shu Yu thanked him.

Meng Yunzheng came over to take the plate. To his surprise, when his fingers touched the bottom of the plate, he found a thick package underneath.

He was slightly astonished and gave Xu Dali a quick glance. As he turned away, he discreetly tucked the package into his sleeve without making a sound.

After Xudali left, Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng had lunch at the Fangs' house. They also had a conversation with Malu before bidding farewell.

Malu and Fang Xiyue were both reluctant to see them go. "If everything is settled, come visit Zhengdao Village again."

"Definitely."

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng got on their carriage, and with the gaze of the Fang family members watching them, they slowly left the village.

Once they were in the carriage, Meng Yunzheng unfolded the piece of paper and looked at the densely written words on it. Shu Yu couldn't help but exclaim, "Xu Dali's information is much more detailed than Shu Quan's."

The two of them leaned in to read, and as they did, their expressions gradually became more peculiar.
