Upon hearing the possibility of their good fortune, Lin Shi's eyes welled up with tears. She gripped her clothes tightly. "Then, when you talk to County Princess later, please mention... when the time comes..."

"No need to mention it. County Princess is not someone who would let others suffer. Zhen Sheng no longer needed to pick up rocks in the wasteland like he did in the past. Their family's life had improved over the years, and he had more free time now, returning to his carefree nature from before their exile.

Shu Yu was a bit surprised when she saw him, but Xu Dali just smiled and said, "My wife made the spicy fried chicken. She originally wanted to invite County Princess and Sir Meng to our house for dinner, but she found out that you would be leaving in the afternoon, so she quickly made this signature dish and asked me to bring it over for you to try."

"Your wife is too polite." Shu Yu thanked him.

Meng Yunzheng came over to take the plate. To his surprise, when his fingers touched the bottom of the plate, he found a thick package underneath.

After Xudali left, Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng had lunch at the Fangs' house. They also had a conversation with Malu before bidding farewell.

Malu and Fang Xiyue were both reluctant to see them go. "If everything is settled, come visit Zhengdao Village again."
