She comforted the crying baby in her arms, "Alright, don't cry anymore. Let's not argue with your uncle. Auntie has brought you lots of things. Come, let's see if you like them."

Shu Yu carried the little one straight into Yu Garden, and all the things she had brought back for the children were taken down from the carriage by Ying Xi.

Her share of the gifts had already been placed in Yu Garden. Shu Yu had brought things for all the children at home and packed them into one box.

She opened the box, placed little Huohuo's portion on top, and let him grab whatever he wanted.

The little guy picked up a rattle with one hand and a small ball with the other, showing them to Shu Yu.

"Do you like them? They're for you."

She placed the child on the bed and let him play while chatting with Shu You.

The baby had cried and calmed down quickly. Now, with toys in hand, he had already forgotten about the previous fuss and was laughing happily.

He could stand up with support now, though he couldn't walk on his own yet. However, he crawled quickly. In no time, he crawled to the edge of the bed, and Shu Yu and Shu You had to sit there to prevent him from falling.

He was very attached to Shu Yu, but when he heard Shu Rui and the others chatting and playing outside, he became curious. His little head kept turning towards the sound, and he grabbed Shu Yu's arm, wobbling as he tried to stand.

"Do you want to go outside and play?" Shu Yu gently rubbed his soft cheek.

The baby raised his head, made a smacking sound, and then sat back down. He held a ball in each hand and continued playing on his own.

Shu Yu laughed heartily. When she heard the voices of Shu Rui and the others from outside again and saw little Huohuo trying to peek outside, she couldn't resist calling out, "Ah Rui, take Huohuo out to play."

"Coming."

Shu Rui still loved his little nephew. Without a second thought, he came over to pick him up.

However, this time the little guy didn't refused. He just made 'ah-ah' and 'ya-ya' sounds toward Shu Yu as if to say, "I'll be back in a moment." Then he was carried away by Shu Rui and the others.

Shu Yu really loved him. How could he be so adorable?

Shu You shook her head. "He's only this cute at certain times. Most of the time, he's like a little demon that's impossible to handle."

"But you still enjoy it," Shu Yu remarked.

Shu You paused for a moment, then smiled. "Your description is quite accurate. You don't even know; this child can help me vent my frustrations."

Curious, Shu Yu asked, "How does he help you vent frustrations?"

"The other day, I was on the street and ran into people from the Zhang family. When Zhang Jin saw me, he came up and called me 'aunt.' He looked so frail now. It took me a while to recognize him. He said he hadn't had meat in a long time and wanted me to buy him some food. I was about to refuse when Huohuo suddenly peed on him."

This happened just a few days ago when she took the little one to Lu Erbai's shop to deliver some items.

She initially thought it was a short trip and would return quickly. Little did she know that halfway there, the baby would need a diaper change, and she hadn't brought any spare diapers. She had to find an empty alley for her maidservant to clean him up.
