Chapter 1953: Compassionate Master Gan

Chapter 1953: Compassionate Master Gan

Shu Yu wasn't very familiar with this Master Gan, but a few days ago, he had sent a congratulatory gift when she opened the store, and she didn't think much of it at the time.

That day, Shu Yu was quite busy and didn't even notice when Master Gan had left.

Surprisingly, he came again today.

Jiang Fengshou mentioned that he was in the backyard, so Shu Yu entered with a puzzled expression.

As soon as she entered the yard, she heard a hearty and somewhat familiar laughter.

When Shu Yu looked closely, she saw Master Gan playing with Jiang Fengshou's young son.

Xue Shi had been working here for two days, and Shu Yu had observed her carefully. She had also tasted the food she cooked, which was indeed quite delicious, and she was hardworking.

Although she was still on a trial period, Shu Yu had asked Xue Shi to bring her two children here. After all, when she became a regular worker, the children would stay with her. Shu Yu also wanted to see how well Jiang Fengshou's wife could manage the children while working.

Today was the first time she had brought the children over, and she didn't expect that Master Gan would get along with them so well.

Master Gan held some sunflower seeds, cracked one open, tossed it into the air, and caught it with his mouth. He had some skills, as he repeated this several times with impressive precision.

The young children of the Jiang family were quite excited and looked at him with admiration.

Shu Yu watched in surprise. Master Gan was good friends with Xun Sheng, and although Xun Sheng wasn't the most practical scholar, he was a thoughtful and reserved person. So, how did he get along so well with Master Gan, who seemed to have a completely different personality?

No wonder he had waited for her for half an hour.

But seeing his attitude and patience with the children, he seemed quite compassionate.

Shu Yu cleared her throat, and the last sunflower seed Master Gan tossed wasn't caught. He quickly turned around, and when he saw her, he became a bit embarrassed. "County Princess is back?"

The young boy from the Jiang family hurriedly called out, "County Princess Lu."

"Yes, I have something to discuss with Master Gan. Let Ying Xi take you to play," Shu Yu said to the child.

Ying Xi came over and took the child's hand, but the child shook his head. "No need, I'm going to practice calligraphy with my sister."

He ran away quickly, and Shu Yu realized something after a moment of thought. This probably wasn't Master Gan playing with the child; it was the child "entertaining" Master Gan.

The Jiang family was quite clever.

Shu Yu shook her head with a smile and took Master Gan to the adjacent room, which served as a meeting room.

After serving tea, Shu Yu asked, "Master Gan, did you come to see me today for something specific?"

Master Gan smiled and said, "Actually, it's nothing major. I just wanted to share some news with you."

"What is it?"

"Chen Qiu has left."

Shu Yu was momentarily surprised. She didn't expect him to bring up something related to Chen Qiu.

But upon reflection, it didn't seem strange. She and Master Gan weren't acquainted, and their only point of connection was indeed the Chen family's situation. Other than that, they didn't seem to have much in common.

However, Chen Qiu leaving did surprise Shu Yu. She had appeared at the shop's entrance a few days ago, but after being taken away by the Pan family, she hadn't been seen again.

Shu Yu wasn't particularly concerned about Chen Qiu; her primary issue was with Chen Bing. Nevertheless, she still found it surprising.

But Master Gan quickly clarified, "I mean, the reason she left is because of you, County Princess."

Shu Yu furrowed her brows. It sounded as if she had driven Chen Qiu away.

Seeing her expression, Master Gan hastily explained, "What I mean is that Chen Qiu left, and for that, I must thank you, County Princess."
