Chapter 45: Outsmarted


"Speak, where is she?"

Holding a long spear, Rong Zhen pointed it at Sulubu's neck. Sulubu trembled and knelt on the ground, begging for mercy. His men also dared not move recklessly, watching the two men struggle.

"Are you talking about the young miss from the Gu family? She's inside the house, I haven't touched her, I've been serving her good food and drink..."

Sulubu's voice trailed off as he glanced nervously to the side, catching Rong Zhen's attention.

"Lead the way, take me inside."

Rong Zhen's gaze and attention were all focused on Sulubu, but he didn't expect a dark figure to move lightly behind him. A silver needle was blown out and pierced his neck from behind. At first, he only felt a cool sensation on the back of his neck and didn't think much of it, but soon he realized he had lost all strength in his hands.

Seeing this, Sulubu quickly counterattacked, grabbing the long spear and flipping it over. With a palm strike to Rong Zhen's chest, he sent him rolling towards a nearby stone pillar. Rong Zhen slammed into it hard, causing the entire cave to shake as he spewed a mouthful of blood.

His men immediately rushed over with their weapons, ready to beat Rong Zhen, but Sulubu shouted, "Stop!" The men stopped raining down their fists like raindrops and waited for further orders.

"Get him tied up!"

Sulubu ordered, and Rong Zhen was tied up like a hog for slaughter. At this point, he had lost a lot of his internal strength and was like a fish on a chopping board, at the mercy of others.

"Sulubu, you actually schemed against me."

Rongzhen forgot that Sulubu's best skill on the battlefield was ambush. He didn't expect to be defeated by him in this way.

"Hahaha, Rongzhen, didn't expect this, ambush is this soldier's greatest weapon. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for being too foolish. You were too focused on rescuing Miss Gu's family, but unfortunately, you came too late. She's going to be my woman tonight, and I'll show you how I'll have my way with her!"

Sulubu's twisted face was filled with pride as he had his men bring Gu Yunru to him.

Gu Yunru heard movement at the door and thought it was Sulubu entering, so she quickly prepared to fight back. However, she didn't expect two lackeys to come in and take her away while stuffing a piece of cloth in her mouth.

"Hahaha, my bride is so beautiful!" Sulubu laughed heartily and removed the cloth from Gu Yunru's mouth.

"Phew, who's your bride? Keep dreaming!" Gu Yunru retorted furiously. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Rongzhen tied up and questioned, "What's he doing here? What have you done to him?"

Rongzhen appeared to be on the brink of death, with blood constantly flowing down his shoulders, creating a pool of blood on the ground, indicating the severity of his injuries.

"I didn't expect this kid to come to rescue you at this time, hahaha," Sulubu said, laughing wildly. Gu Yunru looked at Rongzhen with confusion, and he struggled to open his eyes. He didn't expect that she would be so beautiful today.

"Rongzhen, aren't you good at fighting?!" Gu Yunru shouted at him, but he didn't seem to react.

"Hahaha, this arrogant and unruly kid was defeated by me. You have a saying in the Central Plains, 'heroes are always defeated by beautiful women.' What a pity, I lost a wife and broke an army!"

The anger in Gu Yunru's heart had reached its peak, and she thought that Sulubu had turned out to be a despicable and cunning man.

"Do not harm her..." These words came out of Rong Zhen's mouth, even though he was now suffering terribly. He still wanted to protect Gu Yunru, and when she heard this, tears streamed down her face.

Gu Yunru looked at Sulubu's smug face and clenched her teeth. Suddenly, Sulubu felt a cold sensation on his neck, realizing that a sharp hairpin was already pressed against his throat. He turned pale and said, "What are you doing? I advise you not to mess around!"

The brothers below finally reacted, and they couldn't believe that this woman dared to do such a thing.

"Hey, let go of our leader, or you will pay for it!"

Gu Yunru sneered. At present, Rong Zhen was in their hands, and they only wanted to use him to force her to compromise. As long as she showed disdain, she would not be restrained by them.

"Your leader is in my hands now. If you are obedient and tie up the other party's hands and feet, I will consider letting your leader go."

The brothers under Sulubu immediately took out their knives and put them against Rong Zhen's neck, saying, "You, this foul woman! Don't you care about this boy's life?"

"If you want to kill him, go ahead. I don't want to marry him. I don't want to marry anyone. I just want to live and leave this cave alive."

Gu Yunru pretended to have a calm face, but she was already panicking inside. She couldn't let these people see any flaws, and only by letting them believe that what she said was true, could she and Rong Zhen have a chance to walk out of here alive.

The bandits below whispered and talked to each other.

"You guys need to move faster and tie up the other party's hands and feet. Otherwise, your leader will die in my hands!"

Gu Yunru was only trying to delay time, and the numbness on Rong Zhen's body had gradually faded. As long as he could restore his internal strength as soon as possible, he might be able to break free from the ropes.

"Little girl, don't do anything foolish," Sulubu was afraid of Gu Yunru's momentum. He didn't expect this seemingly weak woman to have such strength. He felt like he was being strangled to death by her.

Gu Yunru did not expect danger to be so close at hand. Seeing that these people had already tied each other up, she calmly said to Rong Zhen, "You go out first. I don't know the way out."

The two of them cooperated well with each other. Sulubu watched as they had already come out of the cave and immediately begged for mercy, "Miss, please spare me. I was just overcome by desire for a moment..."

Gu Yunru was the closest to him and could feel Sulubu's lecherous gaze. Sulubu was already sweating profusely, holding his breath and walking with them for a while.

Rong Zhen asked for Gu Yunru's opinion. After thinking for a moment, Gu Yunru had a clever idea. She ordered Rong Zhen to strip him naked and hang him from a tree branch.

I am actually so focus on this novel and its progress that I forgot my mother's birthday it was only today, 3 days later that I remember it

I really hope that this will not fail me as it's not easy to work on this while I am on duty and deals lots of personal problems
