2024 Patreon update—now with VIP access!

As longtime Futurelings and students of the distant past know, the Omnibus founders have worked with a series of ad sales partners over the life of the show, with fairly uneven results.  If not for our devoted Patreon supporters, the Omnibus Project would have been dissolved years ago.

In early 2024 we hatched a plan to ramp up ad sales, working with a new partner, and 21st-century listeners may have already heard some dynamic ads on the latest entry.  This is good news for Omnibus's future stability! We are still completely independent and nothing about the show should change on the creative side, but we did want to provide an option for listeners who support the show but, for mysterious reasons of their own, don't want to hear us riff for a few minutes about buckwheat pillows or food delivery each show.

To that end, we are rolling out an exciting new Patreon perk: special VIP early access to the weekly Omnibus entry, ad-free!  Do you miss Tuesday Omnibus?  It's back!  Beginning next week, the show will still drop on Thursday, but Patreon supporters can listen to the ad-free version two days earlier, on Tuesday!

The best news is that, after some debate on how to price this exciting new offering, we decided to just toss it into the Lobster Person level, our lowest tier of support.  We considered bulking up the Sentient Aspen Tree Colony tier in hopes of providing more value at the $10 tier, but ultimately decided this was a better opportunity to earn new Patreon eyeballs than to challenge current supporters.  Our plan is to show more gratitude to the $10 tier in 2024 by providing more video content on this feed for our much-appreciated aspen colony types.

I hope this is great news to all you Patreon faithful.  No matter what your tier of support, you now get to reference the weird new jokes 48 hours early every week while the Thursday people in your life scratch their heads!  Thank you for your years of generous patronage.  We can't emphasize this enough: the show has never been remotely profitable from an advertising perspective, and only continues thanks to our members on this forum.  Thank you from the bottom of our bunker!
