Hello everyone!
Last time, I introduced the different avatar classes. This time around, I'll be introducing the starting trio, Nayeli, Daisie and newcomer Quidel!
Nayeli

Nayeli is this game's closest equivalent to a typical "Lord". She is well-rounded and will fit well on basically any team.
She gets a Prf Weapon in the Wind Spear if you fulfill a side objective in an early map. A Magical Lance that deals Wind-based damage that is also effective against Flying enemies.
She also starts the game with the Windsweep combat art, which allows her to hit her enemy once without any fear of counterattack.
Her starting Prf Skill buffs nearby allies' damage/avoid a little bit and later learns an ability to increase terrain defense bonuses (like forest tiles).
Just like her initial appearance, she's meant to be a solid unit that's versatile, but isn't specialized in any specific direction.
Daisie

Your first healer! Daisie is a support unit through and through!
She increases nearby allies' defense. She can heal. She can deal decent chip damage.
As the team's early flier, she's going to have a lot of uses collecting secrets and protecting side objectives. She's also a great candidate to use the Warp/Rescue staves due to her unique movement possibilities as a flier.
Her damage output is her main weakness since Mages cannot double naturally, but she'll have other ways of helping the team since Light tomes typically come with buffing effects for teammates or quirks of their own.
She also really likes flowers. This is crucial data!
Quidel

Quidel is the first official newcomer to Desire's Grove! A childhood friend of Nayeli's and quite the annoyance to Daisie, but a well-meaning dude and your best bet for an early game frontliner!
He fits the typical "Axe Bro" archetype (except that he's useful for more than 3 maps). He can take a hit, but his bulk mainly comes from HP, so he can't deal with too many units at once.
However! He benefits a lot from Nayeli and Daisie's AOE buffs as they will improve both his bulk and offense, which are already his strong suits.
His starting Prf Skill increases damage dealt when his Str is higher than his opponent's Str.
His passive alongside his Overhead Swing Combat Art will allow him to OHKO enemies for quite some time.
Briefly put, he's a solid addition to the team if you need to buy yourself some breathing room and put a dent in the enemy line up!
Here's his early concept art!

In the meantime, I'll keep working on the current maps, both on the visual and story side of things to bring you a playable demo as soon as possible!
In the next dev log, we'll be looking at Keri and discuss my design approach for the project!
See you there!
