Sophie is a magician in training and thus is quite unpredictable. She sometimes does the complete opposite of what she was going for, but she looks so confident in her abilities, you'd think it was her goal all along.
On the battlefield, Sophie is quite unpredictable as her active skill has a randomized outcome. Although her abilities are quite unreliable, she will never harm her teammates or herself, so you can rest assured on that front.
