Lance Corporal Alexander Littell's capture wasn't really ceremonious, it was haphazard at best. Even his captors didn't really expect to capture a Marine. His unit was sweeping a large area of abandoned buildings when he had to pay for his unfamiliarity of the layout of the buildings. Alexander let his guard down a bit after hours of sweep with no single exciting event other than a cat coming out of a cabinet that he was rummaging through. He saw in a distance at the end of a corridor some boxes that looked like they didn't belong.
All of a sudden he heard some gun fights nearby coming from an area that would separate him from his unit. Although his unit was only about 50 feet away, he knew that he couldn't go back the way he came to investigate. He peeked through a small hole in the wall to his his unit retreating at the opposite direction. He knew he was fucked, but he knew that he might be able to rejoin his unit from a different route. He tried to radio his mates but it was a big building and they were too far that the signal couldn't get through. So he quietly sneaked through the back of the building trying to reach the rest of his teammates. His assumption was right, through old holes in a wall, he could see his unit returning fire away from where he's standing. The only problem was that there was no clear passage for him to get back to his unit. He was only separated from his unit by an old dilapidated wall full of holes, he knew that all that he needed to do was to break through some gypsum boards and plywood, and he would be reunited with his unit.
He decided to wait for the gunfight to go full on again before he would try to break the wall. The moment he was waiting for happened a few seconds after, so he as much as he could kicked the wall boards and used the butt of his rifle to break through the wall. When the gunfight died down, he also stopped trying to break the wall. He repeated the process again a few more times stopping only when the gunfight receded. Just one more time he thought to himself, as he started hitting the wall with his rifle again when the gunfight rang again.
He was so determined to get the last of pieces of the obstruction that he got greedy and kept on going just a few second too long after there were no more sound of gunfight. He focused on the biggest hole that he made through the wall waiting for his next chance, but instead of the sound of gunfight, the next sound he heard was a few sets of footsteps followed immediately by a lot of yelling......
"Don't move! Don't fucking move!"
"Drop your weapon"
"Drop your fucking rifle"
All the voices came at him at the same time, as Alexander turned around to see the direction of the voices, he saw 4 guys dressed in all black and all masked pointing their rifles at him. He didn't realize that the last few times he was trying to break the wall, the sound was loud enough to attract some of the guys and they'd been just observing him from behind the walls of the room.
With no completely clear passage to escape the room, and with 4 rifles pointed at him, he knew that his options were limited. Even if he wanted to defend himself, they was he was holding his rifle to break the wall gave him a disadvantage situation, he would need to flip his rifle around before he would be able to fire any shot. The masked guys knew what Alexander was contemplating.....
"Don't even fucking think about it if you wanna live" One of the guys said.
A Marine never surrenders he thought to himself, he decided to go for it, and started to adjust his grip on his rifle, when he was showered with bullets around the floor where he was standing. The sound of the bullets and all the dust and debris flying from the shots aimed at the floor around him really startled him that one of the closest guys was able to kick his rifle away from his grips.
Outnumbered and disarmed, now Alexander knew that he only had one option, to surrender.
"Face down! Face the fuck down, hands on your head!!" The guy said while manhandling him to be on his stomach.
They immediately and systematically searched and disarmed him further, removing his vest, and helmet. After patting him down, they decided to remove his jacket to really make sure he's not hiding anything. One guy then ziptied his hands together tightly behind his back, then they stood him up and started dragging him towards a different room with a large window. A guy flipped a chair laying down on its side upwards then sat Alexander down on it. One guy took a bunch of ropes from his backpack, and distributed them to the other guys, and they all quickly secured him to the chair. In just a couple of minutes, he was securely trussed up, and helplessly tie to the chair. How do these guys know how to tie like this, he thought. He was expertly tied that all of his body and limbs were securely immobilized and secured to the chair. With three guys doing it all at once, it didn't take much time at all.
Another guy reached for the backpack again and pulled out a roll of silver duct tape, he then ripped a length from the roll and ceremoniously stood in front of him for a few second, and even though he was wearing a masked, Alexander knew that he was grinning proudly. The tape then was wrapped around his mouth and head numerous times shutting his mouth completely, making his unable to produce much sound. He tested his bonds and gag, squirming and moaning to no avail. He wasn't going anywhere or making much sound.
The guy that seemed to be the leader then grabbed the radio from the vest that they took from him....
"If anyone can hear this, look through the large window on the Northeast of the building. We got your boy Littell here, if you want him alive, put down your weapons and surrender yourself. We can end this peacefully"
All kind of scenarios went through Alexander's head as he only heard static from the radio.
What would Alexander's unit do?
