Hail, shield wall! Now that May is unfolding, and the hobby life just keeps marching ahead, I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone here exactly what your monthly pledge really means.

It could be easy to overlook or underestimate the DIRECT relationship between the shield wall and everything produced on the RUNEHAMMER label. Make no mistake, my loyal dwarves, every shield counts.

April was the biggest month yet for RUNEHAMMER here on our messy little Patreon home. So, always eager to pipe that support right back to my shields, I took those funds and upgraded my main desktop computer here at Runehammeria. No small investment! For months I have been crippled with YouTube and innovating my use of OBS and more complex multi-camera concepts, my recordings were becoming choppy, my streams awful, even Photoshop laggy and rage-inducing. NO MORE! This new mother brain is fresh and fast. I type these words before I've even installed anything.

I owe you my thanks, and my hard work.

Our hobby can be fickle and funny at times. The months march on and we're all working on projects, fiddling with new groups or pining for old ones. We're an odd bunch! I want to keep it that way. Look to your left, there stands your shield.

A lot of publishers and commission clients eat my time now and again, but for every shield that stays fast at the wall, I can refuse more and more of them, and get back to the drawing streams, room designs, and podcasts that brought us together.

So I salute you, you stalwart weirdos! I salute your love of the hobby at its root, and I salute your boundless enthusiasm for the playful mind, the storyteller mind, the beginner's mind.
