Since everyone is asking, here's the story.
Right after Cornell was taken down, and immediately having his hands taped up, the two guys tag teamed and taped up the rest of his body, at his knees, ankles and upper body. It's just duct tape and they brought a lot, so they have nothing to lose, and they need to make sure the soldier is not going anywhere or give then any trouble, as soon as they think the soldier is incapacitate enough, one guy proceeded to do what needed to be done next, gag him, so without hesitation, the guy grabbed a piece of cloth from his back pocket and just stuffed it in his mouth to shut the soldier up.
Cornell really couldn't really fight his predicament, although he did struggle and moan a little, he knew in his head that he's screwed and really he has lost control of the situation and that it's a losing battle.
