At one point, I wanted to suggest "Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer", a movie that's possible for first-timers to watch if they only know a LITTLE about that Rumiko Takahashi series, but Inu-Yasha's fight-serial backstories and running-character gags get pretty....complex over the course of the TV series.
I know the requester wanted to make another convert, but there are some shows you just can't introduce newbies to overnight.

Hold up if you haven't watched Inuyasha the anime then the movie will make no sense to you please don't ruin an amazing series because of out of context watching 😭

Oh my god who requested Sinister? I mean I know absolutely nothing about the film but if it's a horror it won't end well here. XD

Inu-Yasha is....okay, as anime go, but it's a fight serial (which tend to be never-ending) from manga writer Rumiko Takahashi, previously known for some of the sillier and quirkier romantic comedies in manga.
Those who only grew up watching IY on Cartoon Network, most of the characters (including the analogous voice actors) were cribbed outright from Takahashi's earlier hit "Ranma 1/2", a much sillier mix of anime rom-com and martial-arts fight.
