NYC Blog #2: the best view is not in Manhattan
Added 2022-07-02 18:07:34 +0000 UTCInstead of visiting an observatory, I always tell people to go to Gantry State Park in Long Island City. Daytime or nighttime, it has a breathtaking view of the city. And pictures don't do it justice. Best part... it's free and not as crowded as an observatory.
It's accessible by several train lines and two ferry routes.

2022-07-02 23:33:06 +0000 UTCIf it's a nice day, I highly recommend Gantry State Park if you haven't been yet. The Cloisters is nice too, but I prefer it in the fall when the colors are changing.

2022-07-02 23:05:29 +0000 UTCHopefully you can make it to Gantry Park on your next visit! It is indeed a good spot for fireworks. But it will be extremely packed with people. Normally, it's not overwhelmingly crowded.
2022-07-02 18:14:56 +0000 UTCOn our Last trip we planned on going out there to see Manhattanhenge, but we were just too tired after out big trip. It looks like the perfect place to watch the fireworks!
