Update - whats going on?

Hi everyone,

sorry for the silence but I am busy with many things at the moment.

Currently I'm trying different ways to avoid the splitscreen - it's technically impressive but not very suitable for a 2 player mode, unfortunately. I've found a very talented person who will support me because the original graphic artist is not available at the moment. The first new animations (e.g. pushing and pulling boxes) are ready and allow new game mechanics.... maybe real coop?

So I'm still working on the techdemo but things are going slowly, don't expect a release anytime soon. It's ok if you want to cancel your subscription... i'm not doing this for the money!

But good news at the end: the NGCD version also works on the CDZ...a user pointed it out to me, my problem was the wrong brand of CD-R because the CDZ is very sensitive and the laser in my unit is probably already very weak. So all platforms covered - AES, MVS, NGCD1, NGCD2 & finally CDZ!

Any updates on this game? I know you don't make these games for the money but would raising money help with completing development?

I would suggest finish up a game with the assets you have got, otherwise you may be waiting a while in the hope an artist can be brought back on board. Also drop the two player for now and just make it a one player game, trying to do too much in one go can often take too long and put you off finishing anything at all, as you previous project has shown. Just my opinion of course, you can always add new graphics, features and two player further down the line.

After the original pixel artist has no more time to work on suitable assets I contacted other artists - but it seems to be hard to continue this very special style. Additionally the engine is designed for classic jump&run gameplay and is very close to hardware to get the maximum out of it (sprite count, splitscreen, 50fps w/o slowdowns etc.) but most artist want to create multiplatform games in metrovania style, in my opinion it doesn't work on AES/NGCD nor on MVS. Currently I do not know how to continue here.

Hi Blastar, I was just wondering if you are still working on this? Are the plans for the final version to be to see who can get the most coins/highest score on the 3 levels or will you add a single player world style mode on top? I'm still getting the hang of things and knowing how to time things against those pesky carrots in tiny spaces where you can't jump on them. Lovely looking game.
